Eh, being a person who wants to post in this thread and has no reason to, I guess there is only one logical thing to do.
Assume Custom is going up against Rank 2?

LOOKIT ALL THAT MOEEEEEEE

Macawmoses

Custom, when she's in the air cut the poop out of her leg. Then rinse and repeat. Oh, and don't use your tiger thing until she is in the air, if you can. It gets easier to hit her and continue.

Nayrman

Beaten it twice and recorded for BrainScratch Comms.

While the gameplay is significantly better (only crazy people actually like that bland and boring as crap open world from the first game), the story was meh. It took itself way too seriously for half the game, and the last two levels are long, boring, and monotonous. Some of the bosses fit right in with the series, but about half of them are just "hey look it's a boss fight" sort of things (I'm looking at YOU Matt Helms and Margaret). Shinobu controls like ass, and Henry plays a lot better but is only used for like five minutes.
Better gameplay than the original, but not quite as good a story.

Oh, and form 2 final boss is a cheating whore.

Syncopathic

Geez. Am I the only one who loved playing as Shinobu EVERY FUCKING SECOND?
Seriously. I was complete rape with her. I really didn't like playing as Henry that much. Sure, his dash was cool, but still, Shinobu's two levels are still intercourse ing awesome. New Destroy Man's level is easily the best stage in the game. Oh and her jump? Fucking loved it. I was able to take out the big guys really fast.

Margaret was hot though. And her weapons were cool. And I liked that song.

Good job! I, Viewtifulboy, declare you the CHAMPION!

I'm the official winner of the Viewtiful Victory roleplay championship!

Whoa whoa whoa. You're bashing Margaret and Helms? They by far fit the game better than anyone (sans Shake and N.D. and obviously Gunman, a successor). They're perfect fits for the game. I don't know how you can rag on them when they're some of the most unique in the game. The only one I put on par with them is Rank #3, the cosmonaut.

I do agree on the rank 2 level being suckish. And the rank 3 level as well. But beyond that, I've relatively few nuances (other than them spoiling the rank 2 person by showing it in a trailer. The intercourse .)

Thirdkoopa

Won't be getting this for a long time but I'm playing through the first one right now, already spoiled a...Rather odd amount of this, and I know every ranking fight now in the first.

The game sounds overall better than the first; I really hate having to do random tasks before the next ranking fight but the one thing I've heard disliked compared to the first is;
The plot is surely less...To it's random nature. In NMH it just got...Very random especially at the end. The fast fowarding part before Rank 1's fight? Totally random. I just loved how they started actually talking with the game like in Conker's Bad Fur Day. But this one surely seems to be more...Serious.

Also Henry and Shinobu only getting such few missions? Aw.
[21:11] <mackormoses> let's take a look at today's stats
[21:11] <Rosencrantz> stats today are high
[21:11] <mackormoses> holy intercourse ing poop
[21:11] <Rosencrantz> you adding all these standards
[21:11] <Rosencrantz> is really pushing us
3 of my friends smoke weed. Why? Well I asked one time, and this is what they said: "Because I can blow out smoke and it makes me feel like a intercourse ing dragon"

Margaret maybe in quirkiness, but not in personality, and at least her song is good.

Matt Helms is a hell no Mack. There is zero character, no build up other than the "Boo! Haunted House!" bit, not to mention he's probably the easiest boss in the game. As long as you're not using the Poemy (or whatever the masamune is called) you have the speed advantage COMPLETELY so all you need to do is stand there and wail on him...

Macawmoses

helms' difficulty has to do with the fact he's the fourth of 15 intercourse ing bosses. 4th.  Realistically, he's even less, as I hardly count Skelter as a boss. And let's not forget our football buddy who doesn't play by the same normal rules. Essentially, he's the second or third.

His plotline is just noting the supernatural occurrences in Santa Destroy. Same with BDSM chick and Margaret. Same with the cosmonaut in some regard, and possibly Mimi. I see no reason as to why he doesn't fit in. Then again, the fact he torched me still has me bitter.

How do you lose to him? You just stand there and wail on him, even on the hardest difficulty.  And no, him being the 4th-2nd boss depending on your outlook doesn't matter, as Nathan Copeland is a LOT harder than Helms is.
Dude, the fact that there are physical warp points in Santa Destroy is proof enough. I just think Suda wanted to do his own "Ringu" thing. Eh, I didn't like Cloe that much either, if only because she was painfully easy.
I think Captain Vladamir was only in the game so Suda could have one last "WTF" moment before the game got really serious at the end.

Macawmoses

I didn't die during any of the boss fights, so it's besides that. And I found Copeland to be crazy easy. Anyone having issues with him isn't paying attention. And that's because he is the first boss. Helms, on the other hand, at least has some variance. And he can forcefully distance you. Nonetheless, it's obvious it's more or less a matter of taste as to their difficulty.

To be honest, the boss that did the most damage to me was Million Gunman, as he had me on my last health point. Twice.
