For those of you that don't remember, last E3 I was very excited about a little devil called Span Smasher. A Nintendo property about whipping this ball like character through different obstacles....nothing too special (besides the fact it would be WM+).

It fell off the radar, but with its brightly coloured graphics and fresh idea I kept on hoping more info would pop up. Well, at the media summit, it did.

It's been renamed FlingSmash (a stupid name, if you ask me). But, it's a move to a new IP by Nintendo, which pleases me. From what I have seen of it, it's the type of game that combines casual with core. Good news for those of us growing bored on Wii.

Looks interesting, and maybe even fun.
However, I don't see a game like this going on shelves. It seems more suited for WiiWare.

It honestly sounds really fun. I like smashing things (derp), and I tend to find games that let you smash things in proportion with the amount of force you put into it to be really fun. I'll probably get it as a way to relieve stress, heheh.

A ton of people are saying it looks like a WiiWare game. My hope is that it's going to be sort of like Boom Blox - something jam packed with content, at a lower price point, and some good marketing.

If they do it right, I can see this becoming one of the best games on the Wii. They'd better market it right to get mre attention though.

My dreams have been answered. Through by the looks of it it'll need a lot just to have a decent amount of sales.

I think their goal is to more or less offer a budget title. I'm thinking this is going to be like Endless Ocean and at the 30 buck mark as a way of expanding their library that uses certain features (EO was Wii Speak)

Aw', I'm still kinda hoping for a full-effort 50$ purchase new IP all over it but ah well. A budget title can't be too bad; At least they're making a new IP for the wii.

Well, if it is a full out game, it'll need to have a tooooooooooooooooon of content. On top of on disc stuff, I'd be hoping for DLC in the vain of Brawl, too.

I remember this. It looked pretty awesome. I might pick it up unless it's like $50.

And it better be proof checked to. Y'know, like no controls to make the game unbearable. That and we better see some innovative ideas come out of this even if It's a mixture. Maybe some multiplayer or other things. Make sure it's easy to get addicted into and hard to master.

Basically, for Nintendo's first new IP on the Wii from themselves, the expectation bar has been raised pretty high if It's full price. Not that high as some ridiculously hyped stuff but I better see a lot of effort from SlingSmash.
