Just get new ones. I tried repairing them and all the sound went to the left headphone. It was annoying

Right now a Q-tip/compressed air combo worked. Is this going to keep happening?

Err, if it is indeed the headphone jack on the ipod (check them by trying them on your computer), then you're going to have to open it up and re-solder the connections on the jack. happened to my girlfriend's ipod from putting too much strain on the jack..

just an fyi though as someone who's repaired ipods before, the touch is a BITCH to get open without damaging; you're probably better off sending it off to apple or finding someone locally who repairs ipods. (see craigslist or something..)

oh yeah just thought of something else, the connections inside the jack could be dirty. that's probably why the q-tip/compressed air worked. clean it a bit, be gentle.

You have to either pop the ipod open and solder the connection back together or send it in for replacement.

I wouldn't be popping open an ipod touch with their price tag though. Have fun!
