Okay, I've had just about enough of Vista & on top of its problems I appear to have Conficker, or something similar. (I say appear because I have every symptom but I always get clean scans)

So I'm asking you guys if you know the best way to go about the process. Because I might have a virus, I'm planning on just reformatting my Hard Drive from Linux booted from a USB, then installing Windows 7. Is there anything I should know beforehand?

Reformatting deletes everything. Meaning it will wipe out the virus as well.
So you'll be fine.

Yeah, I know. Its a major pain backing things up..... seeing as I'm using IMGburn to burn specific files to DVDs, so the thing doesn't try to hide any files.

That & I've been downloading the Win7 drivers for all my components ahead of time. I just wanted to know if there was anything I should remember. If I'm back later.... it worked

Windows update in Windows 7 usually fetches the drivers for you.

You should probably scan your back-up

I did before I installed, I am now. I also created a restore point right after I installed, so I should be okay.
Really liking Windows 7 so far!
