Just finished King's latest beast of literature 'Under the Dome' and I have to say it has a lot in common with the The Stand but in the best way possible.

doomsday-esque scenario, self serving villain (So well written I'm gonna make a intercourse ing portrait of Big Jim Rennie), and King's habit of making things worse long before they get better don't take away from an engaging and interesting cast of characters and pacing that had me reminding myself that sleep is required to do my job in order to end my carnivorous reading.

Personal favorite characters include Big Jim Rennie whose crooked dealings don't end any where near his used car lot and Phil 'Chef' Bushey the Bible thumping Meth head with an interesting belief that asian people are only a few steps up from demons.

Highly recommended for anyone interested in King's work or just works of fiction that explore the human psyche when put under extreme situations.
