I'm a 15 year old guy who works out at the gym and takes karate lessons. Yet, I'm TERRIFIED of "falling" on things like rollercoaster rides. YOu know, the part where you drop 10 million feet? >_>. I SHOULDN'T be scared, yet I am. I'm so scared that I'm already worrying about when we go to an amusement park in FIVE MONTHS! I've been many many times in my life, and I can't get over the fear of falling. I'm not really scared of heights, or rollercoasters for that matter, just the FALLING part of rollercoasters. It's not even that I'm scared I'm gonna die or anything, it's just that I hate it, it terrifies me, and I hate the feeling you get when falling.

The strange thing is that I don't mind rollercoasters that shoot off from 0-60mph in like one second, even though the feeling is basically the same O_O.

So anyways, is there a way to make it so you don't "feel" that feeling when you fall? I know that tightening your stomach helps, but not enough for me. I'll try to NOT go on some of the rides that have a 300 foot drop, but my parents make me go on the rides I'm terrified of.

*sigh*. I'm supposed to be a tough 15 year old guy :(

Please help! I'm going crazy with anxiety! (even though I've done this several times)

You look down the whol ride, and you unbuckle your belt.

WELL my first SUGGESTION would be to CUT back on the CAPS.

But seriously, for me I just sing Phantom of the Opera until it's over. It's super effective.

LoL, even my friend's five year old sister rides intense roller coasters, what's wrong with you?

Maybe it's because you know that you can't beat up anything to solve your problem when on a roller coaster, you know, because you're helpless up there.  Going +50 mph, 3.4 Gs on a loop, nothing to grab, nothing you can do about it.  Nothing in your power.  ;)

Hope I helped. :)

I love loops though :O. Just something about the falling I hate. Don't know what it is though :(. I'm SUCH a wimp. Funny that I want to go into the army and I'm terrified of this :|.

Guess it's something that I was born with though. I mean, some people, even guys are terrified of heights so I guess I'm like that...

to tell you the truth, i wasnt too scared the first time going on it ( i was a bit nervous about me falling out my seat though ). the only thing you might find uncomfortable is the zero gravity feeling.  but one thing to know:  hold on to teh railing!!!!!

Scream when going down a big drop. It'll make you feel better, and even tough guys are allowed to scream on roller coasters.....

FLAIRFAN777

i was, til i road the american eagle at six flags( even tho i almost died(seriously)) so just don't worry

LINKNLYD, THENINTENDODUDE, and BOWSERFREAK13, please tell me if you are them or find them

It's fairly common, don't beat yourself up about it.
I didn't ride my first roller coaster until I was 12 or 13...>_>;
I was always afraid. D:

It's fine. I was just afraid of roller coasters in general until I was forced on the Iron Wolf at Six Flags back in June, and I was 13 then. Then I loved it. Maybe just scream on the drops to make you feel better, like someone here said? I dunno, drops are my favorite part of a roller coaster, so I never had this problem.

Umm....If there is anyway possible, try to not think about it. :P

I have no problem with it, the Zero-G feeling isn't the most comfortable, but I still enjoy it :P (Especially on rides like The Boss at Six Flags)

Though... I've only had that feeling once, the first time I rode The Voyage at Holiday World. ._.'

It's as intense/more intense as/then it looks in the pictures too. :P
