As far as I know, there's no sounds embedded in the actual forums themselves. Are you sure you didn't have the Arcade open in another tab, or someone didn't sign onto AIM just then?

2. You heard a TV/Game/Radio, etc. in another room
3. It was some other program on your computer.

no, in fact, when i herd the noise, i raised the speaker volume, and the noise did at the same time
