Wow, well this is a good idea to get people posting.
Maybe give them a special rank at the end of the week or something!
^^
You try convincing Mack and Silver of that. ;D

I'm not giving out ranks for posting a lot.
Ok then forget it.

Or wait. Post count ranks. :|
I really hate how I've made more than 12,000 posts here. Thankfully this swaying, moving Chandelure makes it all worth it.

You better give the Boss rank extra stars, my rank has five and yours has four. :o
Remember when post count ranks were a big deal?

90% of the content on here is in the games forum, chat threads, and topics like "What's your favorite ____". None of these contribute anything to the community, it's just false inflation on the daily post numbers. If you have these kinds of numbers and the posts are actually quality and have substance, then this will mean something.

I agree and disagree. They do contribute to the forum, as games and chat brings the community closer together. However, that's the extent of it - it's an internal reflection.

Beyond that though, I made three new topics on Third Party, and yet one has replies. I don't get it.

What's not to get?

It's not Power On. People don't venture there.

Macawmoses

That's what's not to get. I don't see how our forum can complain about activity levels when it confines itself to one board.

The Riddler

Some of us do try. You see us posting over there.
A good majority of our members don't. It sucks.

I think the main problem with this whole gaming board thing is mainly that there's not much of an incentive on discussion. Most threads I see usually get:
"Oh hey this is coming out"
"Yeah that's neat"
"I think so too"

And never much continuous discussion. That and we have the chat thread. We discussed Mario RPG's and Sigs in there around as much as the actual designated topics. Throwing in "We have IRC" also doesn't help at all. Not that I go on it so I don't really know.
[21:11] <mackormoses> let's take a look at today's stats
[21:11] <Rosencrantz> stats today are high

3 of my friends smoke weed. Why? Well I asked one time, and this is what they said: "Because I can blow out smoke and it makes me feel like a intercourse ing dragon"

Kayo

I just remembered.. we actually have a third-party board.

I do believe I'm now bronze certified in topics.
