Personal Quotes

Are there any quotes you live by, or really appreciate? I have made posters and poop of some of my favourites so I always remember them. Plus, they're useful on essays. Here's two of mine from Voltaire...

He was a great patriot, a humanitarian, a loyal friend; provided, of course, he really is dead.

This serves as a reminder to me of who we, as people, really are. Two faced. It's a horrible thing, but I never take anything at face value. To me, this shows the gossip of our society, and the conditioning of self importance.

Judge a man by his questions rather than his answers.

This particular quote reminds me of the other saying, the only stupid question is one not asked. It takes a person eager to learn to ask questions. Answering takes nothing.

It's simply the cleverness and the truth of the matter that makes me like it so much. I know it sounds stupid, but a prime example would be a situation that happened to me in TF2.

We were playing on Dustbowl, stage 1.

Fairly early in the game, we capped point A.

Not even 5 seconds later, "VICTORY!" was sounded. Of course, everyone in the server was saying "wtf what happened".

What did happen?

My good friend playing at the time had extremely low health, and he had the Equalizer equipped. For those who don't play TF2, the Equalizer makes you run faster the lower health you have when it's out.

So, he was running to get health, and the nearest available spot was near point B.

The health at the time was gone. He noticed that we were capping A. So, rather than being a complete vagina-y and waiting, what did he do?

He ran to B and waited. With about 10 health.

And, as I said, we won. He did things right, and we had no clue he had done anything. Of course, after he had said "YEAH I'M THE FUCKING MAN" over mic chat, we knew what happened. But you get the idea.

After this comes a simple song quote~

I don't know why, but this song is just so powerful, and it's said so strongly, it's just amazing.

This is actually a quote of mine, belive it or not. It's... well... just read it. You'll figure it out. Or not.
