Didn't we have Mega Man 10?

Fully retail. Fully fifth generation. Not on a handheld.  Not any of this downloadable blast from the 80's bullpoop.

I love MM9 and MM10 but nostalgia only lasts for so long and sooner or later they are either going to have to move forward or let the franchise die.

You know what I want at E3 at #1 priority realistically speaking?

Instead of new consoles or sequels I want new IP's. Good new IP's.

Also golden sun DS please.
[21:11] <mackormoses> let's take a look at today's stats

3 of my friends smoke weed. Why? Well I asked one time, and this is what they said: "Because I can blow out smoke and it makes me feel like a intercourse ing dragon"

Problem with new IPs is that we never know if they're going to be good.

Didn't Nintendo just release Glory of Hercules and Fossil Fighters?

Nayrman

A mix of sequels and new IP's are fine with me.

What I want are sequels to games that DESERVE them. Something tells me there will be ANOTHER Halo, ANOTHER blah blah blah, etc.

Nintendo:
Zelda reveal for realz. Promise to be end of year early next year. Two months later it'll be Holiday 2011, and we'll go from there.
Nintendo 3DS. They'll hype it up as the next "true" evolution of the DS, but like the DS itself, it'll take a year before anyone has any idea what to do with the thing, but it'll be a good handheld like Nintendo always makes.
Hint at some other franchises, but nothing substantial outside of hopefully more Golden Sun DS footage.
Wii Vitality and other useless crap no one asked for

Microsoft:
More online functionality, further cementing the fact that no one can beat them in the online arena
Project Natal will be heavily featured, but critically panned due to no force feedback from having "no controller".
Halo and more FPS's galore.
Claiming they're more original than the Wii and PS3, but not really doing so by showing so many of the same type of games.
**Note: Unless they have some super-hidden unexpected show stopper, I think Microsoft will have the worst showing

Sony:
Sony Move will be heavily shown, and the initial problems will be somewhat resolved after some time looking at how normal people played it at the GDC.
More games with Move in mind will be shown, expect some big announcement by SCEA regarding a game for Move (God of War? Or maybe something like it)
Last Guardian is the game of the show to them
LittleBig Planet 2 will be shown, among sequels to other popular Sony franchises.

You forgot a very important bullet point with Nintendo:
-Cammy makes yet another appearance and embarrasses everyone on stage, in the expo, and in the world by talking about her dogs and when she broke her ankle and sucking at playing the demos as usual.

Lurk moar.

Also, here are all of PY's awesome E3 predictions for Nintendo:
-Cammy makes yet another appearance and embarrasses everyone on stage, in the expo, and in the world by talking about her dogs and when she broke her ankle and sucking at playing the demos as usual.
-Reggie talks about how Nintendo hasn't forgotten their hardcore audience while demonstrating Wii Fit Vitality Sensor Edition and mentioning at the end of the expo that Zelda has been delayed until Holiday 2011.
-Announcement that Golden Sun DS will be the launch title for the 3DS to the chagrin of fans everywhere.
-Has it been a year since the last incarnation of Wii Sports? Yeah, we'll see a new one of those.
-A new Animal Crossing with WiiSpeak functionality. It will also intelligently scramble player voices to sound like the animals to ensure the safety of children everywhere.
-Metroid: Other M will debut. Fans of Metroid Prime will continue to lambast the game until Nintendo displays their first 3D cleavage shot ever.
-Kid Icarus game entitled Kid Icarus Forever.
-Super Mario Galaxy 3. You've journeyed through space. You've ridden Yoshi. Now wear a Tanooki suit!
-Nintendo announces changes to improve the quality of their consumer online experience--friend code lengths will be doubled, and Nintendo will begin charging Xbox Live-level fees for its usage.

Also, one for Sony:
-More information on the Last Guardian will be announced. Developer confirms that the griffin will indeed die, to no one's surprise.

They are only showing Halo Reach.
After Reach, 343 industries takes over the Halo franchise while Bungie goes to Activision.
So I doubt they'd show a new Halo.

QuoteRobotnik: GET A LOAD OF THIS!!!!!!!!

bluaki

A new Paper Mario looks likely enough, considering the other three's 3-year-interval releases of 2001, 2004, and 2007.

We got the name Wii Party just a couple days ago, which is more than likely an E3 reveal.

This

Just not with SPM gameplay. God that was a disappointment.

Problem with new IPs is that we never know if they're going to be good.
...And?

On the other hand if they put actual work into it, even if it's mediocre, that paves a way into a sequel. It's about time we see more new IP's or risk takers down this alley.

As for Mario, I'm willing to guess that we'll see SOME mario announcement for next year. It happens almost every year and happened with SMG2 last year while NSMBWii was still shown.

For what it is I have no clue. A Mario RPG is very possible since Bowser's inside Story is now out and there's usually 2 year intervals between them, would probably be Paper Mario, which if it was to be like what TTYD is to Paper Mario, that makes up for almost ANYTHING poopty they can announce.

Unless it's something like how PY said:
"
-Nintendo announces changes to improve the quality of their consumer online experience--friend code lengths will be doubled, and Nintendo will begin charging Xbox Live-level fees for its usage."

Any other out of the box guesses for Mario spin-offs or possible main entries? It could be something on the DS. Come to think of it, Mario Party 9 is pretty much almost out of the question to be shown due to Wii Party. Thank god too.

When it comes to sequels, yes. Something somewhat shocking (Or multiple things) like Golden Sun DS would be an interesting move instead of the usual. Just what could they be? It's so hard to think especially when you mix in the word "Surprise/Unexpected"

It's definitely a risk that more often than not, isn't worth taking. Why do you think most companies just make sequels?

Still, Miyamoto is famous for his IP's and games like Pikmin surprised the hell out of me, so I'm all for it. But sometimes all I personally really want is a good sequel to a great game. I'd buy like 4 copies of Luigi's Mansion 2 if it ever came to be for example. lol

...You have to ask if I know that? You know me better than that.

Anyways yes, it is a risk, I know that, but I'd really like to start to see more companies HEAVILY pushing out of the mend. Sequel-mania bores me.

But even then, good/less predictable sequels are still fine by me as long as it doesn't turn into the entire show. We'll just have to see where it goes when it comes to surprise announcements.
