..and face it. None of you have done as much with your summer as you'd hoped.

So I have a question for you all. Do you plan on making the best of August? Or is it going to be as boring as July was for you?

In addition, when do you go back to school/college/etc?

Now to answer my own question. Well, I have quite a bit to look forward to this August. First of all, I'll be spending the last week of August in Wildwood, New Jersey. Most of you haven't been there I'm sure, and you should. It's the greatest place to be during the summer. Or, I think it is.

Now for the first 3 weeks. Well, birthdays. My friends with August birthdays like to throw big parties, so that should be fun. And my aunt is having a baby around the 8th. First baby in the family in over 5 years. First baby in the family that isn't one of my sisters since I was born. So yeah, I get a little cousin in my immediate family. (I have a lot of younger cousins that are that once-removed poop and what not)

And hopefully I'm going somewhere else before Wildwood. I was gonna go to Virginia, but my parents could only get three days off in addition to the week for Wildwood, and it's an entire day's drive from my house. So, that's out. I'm gonna try to plan stuff to do so I'm not sitting here refreshing pages waiting for people to post on internet forums all afternoon. (Sigh.) And then I go back to school, dunno when. It'll be somewhere around Sept. 8th. So, tat gives me a week of cramming in September to work with.

Now your turn.

EDIT: Eh, I probably could have put this in Power Down. But I can't move my own topics. Whether a staff member chooses to us up to them. :/

Half over? I've only got two weeks left.

But yeah, for the majority I haven't done anything this summer. I started going to the gym recently, which was something I was hoping to get around to a lot earlier, but at least I'm finally doing it. I also might go to New Jersey the last weekend of my break, but I'm not sure since it costs a lot, and I'd have to fly out at 2 am so that I could make it back home on time.

I've been working most the summer, but last week, my friends and I went to Florida. We went to Wonderworks, the beach, some of us (including me) went to IoA, shopping sprees, and just enjoyed eachother's company.

It's been nothing but work work work work work all summer. That's the plan, and that's what I'm happy to be doing. The end result is a bankroll that I can be proud of for my education. Moving to university is really the other key event for me - boy will that be fun...

I don't want a job. Well, maybe when I can drive. Hell, most places- actually, all places around here won't hire you unless you're 18. Some 17. A few 16, but that's like McDonald's and other places I really don't wanna work.

I tried applying for a job at Taco Bell in the spring but they wouldn't hire me. :|

You're close to being able to get a decent job age wise. Assuming you live in a city, the idea is that they've got pick of the litter and that there's 100 guys waiting to replace you. Albeit somewhat true, it gives them leverage in terms of age: really, why get a 14 year old over a 16 year old? That's a perk of smaller towns...you can get hired based on your name in a job you're not qualified to do. And make a living, no less.

my summer hasn't been too bad, might be getting my own place, if I can find a room mate

I've had fun with Summer so far. Been to the fair every day now since it started, and seen: Justin Bieber (Blah), Sammy Hagar, Aerosmith, Morris Day & The Time, and Blue Oyster Cult.

Also got my drivers license, good for me, bad for everyone else on the road D:

Well, where I live is sort of a city, like a small city-thing. There's also the town I go to school in, which is much smaller. I might have a better chance at a job there. Actually, I would be able to walk there after school. Problem is, like everything there is family owned, and never hires anyone. So, I'm pretty much out of a job until I'm at least 16, which is alright because I'll be able to drive then anyway.

Not that I want to. When I realize how close my 16th birthday is, I'm actually not all too excited about driving like some people are. Plus, I see no reason to do such a thing. I have nowhere to go, really. (Of course this is because I have no job.) In other words, it's a vicious cycle. :\

Most of my activities this summer have not been baby related.
