I wrote a novel called "Peter the Nigger". It didn't sell well because it was released on the same day that Oprah's magazine was published.

Creativity and adeptness at writing is just not enough anymore, it seems. It's all about marketing and how fast you can sell out your soul just to get a set of nice, golden plates for your kitchen. It's sad to see that there is a Hollywood for any type of medium, whether it be wailing or drawing fruit on fine linen. Whatever the case, the people with money always win, and there's not much that can be done about that. All we can hope for is strong word-of-mouth and a bit of dandy luck.
