I don't think Brawl's being delayed

I don't think it's delayed. I have a theory.

Ah, yes. Arguably the most controversial update was Sonic's confirmation tonight, but we got some bad(/even worse for some people) was that Brawl's release date was changed to "TBD" on the site (to be determined). I'm here to keep people on the bright side of things. I don't think brawl is delayed; I think it was pushed forward.

This is unlikely, but there is more evidence towards it being pushed forward than it being pushed back. Here are my findings:

Nintendo Power: As many of you know, Nintendo Power gets it's info straight from the source, and they're doing Smash Bros Brawl as their December cover article. This means they have even a relatively finished game – and it doesn't take two months to mass produce this, I don't think.

Dojo updates: The updates recently have become more full, in my opinion. Take a look.

Of course we have images like this:

But now we're getting pics like this:

The same difference is between the video on this page and the one on this page.

What's that difference? The interface. The game is probably nearly done; which means it should be ready to actually start finishing.

Other random dojo facts:

1. The notice that says "December 3rd" is still on the dojo.
2. We've revealed 22 playable characters as of now. The inevitable Animal crossing character has yet to be revealed and we do not have a 19th icon revealed yet (sonic was 20!)
3. The only current franchises without stages are Metroid, Kojima Productions, Sonic Team, Legend of Zelda, and Ice Climbers.
4. Nearly every known aspect of How to Play has been revealed besides Crawling.

E for All: As you can see in this screenshot, E for All has a (rather finished) demo playable. Enough said...

Miscellaneous Facts
- Hideo Kojima said in November the game was halfway done.
- Releasing it after Christmas would be foolish sales-wise.
- The localization team is already working on it, as you can see from the switched up versions of the site.
- Games have released in the US before Japan previously. IIRC, the Wii was released in America before Japan.
- Umm, HELLO, it says "TO BE DETERMINED!" Everyone's jumping to conclusions!

So there we go. There really is no reason to delay it...Hell I'll take the game now D:

If it isn't being delayed, then why did they make a big deal about December 3rd at E3 and on the site, then suddenly change it to TBD?

You're just in denial.

Ridley

...Friend codes were probably implemented by the same people who wanted tripping in Brawl...
...It's quite obvious...

FULL_METAL_RYDER2

Kojima never said it was halfway done in november, november hasn't even happened yet. All he said was that it felt complete.

Because They're considering delaying it, keeping it the same, or pushing it back up.

It means exactly what it stands for, it hasn't been determined yet.

Look at the E3 update for America.
"I can now say that the North American launch date for Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been decided."
Keywords: North America
Look at Japan's.
No release date in that update, no trace of one!

Don't worry, Americans, you'll still get Brawl in Dec.

StarWindWizard7

I'm going to remain pessimistic about it....

X_Darkness

But at the end of the new trailer of the Nintendo Confrence it said: Coming soon.... Why not December 3rd.

But there are other points already said.

WOW, there confusing us.

"Coming soon" could mean before December 3rd! It could be next tuesday! We don't know.

ZELDAWANTER

Also, if you look at all the other countries, even the U.K...THEY HAVE NO RELEASE DATE UPDATE!

Only America does!
The TBD is for all the other countries!

Red

Also if you look in E for all, Pit is a goldish yellow which means you can change your color!

Shamu

It seems strange that Sakurai left the released date in the English site. We might even get Brawl first, since the Japanese site has their release date in January 24. =o

Meh, I don't really care that much.

Cornwad

That is not a theory, it is a thought.

Yay proper word usage!
But I agree, the screenshots look more like the final product.
