And the opponent has loads of Defensive boosts and poop and your attacks do little damage and you're on your last pokemon, and your counter to that certain opponent is fainted. And you're like "OH FUCK I'LL NEVER WIN LEFTOVERS FDJH"
Then you get a critical hit.
And the opponent dies.

No that's when you paralyze something, and their Synchronize hits you back. They are able to attack every turn without fail, but you're fully paralyzed 5 turns in a row. Then you die.

Or worse, when it happens with Freeze status.

Exactly. That's why I never double team.

Or how about you use your best attack and it criticals, but they have about one HP left, the trainer uses a full restore, and your next attack misses. Such a pain.
