Just kidding, I pay my bill on time. But I was watching those shows where they tow people cars and those people blow fits. People act like they have no idea. I mean obviously you didn't pay your bills so there no arguing. So what made me mad about this show is that people actually get in the worst of situations. They over react and have spaz attacks. Now this is hilarious but obviously it has to be fake. Its a gimmick to get more viewers.
What are you thoughts about it?
Also do you think its moral to humiliate someone just so they can make extra money through the media with this booming business that they already have because of the economy? I mean I would be probably sue them for doing that to me. Even If i don't win.
One of my friends at Fox said they are working on a new project, to where they wont tow your car if you answer a question correctly. Such as a trivia pursuit question. To me that sounds so inhumane.
I just want to know what you guys would think?
KK.

My bro and I come across that show occasionally, but not too often.
The people in those shows overreact a bit too much, but it's their own fault.

It's basically their own fault. Nothing wrong with making some money off of people's stupidity, I guess.
YEAH

ThePowerOfOne

Pretty sure what they show on tv are just over-exaggerated recreations of what actually happened, just to make it more entertaining.

Either way, I watch it and laugh at the stupid people who get mad at the repo people when they are the ones who didn't pay their bill.

I saw a show like that once and saw the repo guys get jumped buy a whole family.

If you can't take on the responsibilities of having a car then why get one to begin with?

Those guys do have a rather dangerous job.  It's most difficult to get a car with AWD/4WD because then they have to try and put attachments on the wheels not lifted up so they don't completely ruin the tires...and make a lot of noise.

You'd be surprised how mad people can get when someone tries to take something of "theirs"

When it technically isn't theirs because they haven't paid off the loan.

This is why you should avoid loans at all costs.

I think that it's partially people having a genuine reaction, partially the mentality that overreacting will show their "resolve and determination", and partially just idiots with debt being emotionally fuelled by the fact that they are on camera. After all, negative attention is still attention.

Not to mention that the producers likely have hundreds of hours of footage of many different people. They cut the footage of people saying "Oh. Well... That's cool I guess. Better go pay my taxes." and save the footage of people having rabies fits and screaming "LET THE FUCK GO OF MY MARGARITA MIXER YOU FASCIST WHORE!"

Aren't there certain occasions where some of the people agree?

Okay then, try getting a decent car with a loan without working your ass off for a few months, or a year or two, and get back to me on that.

Because I have a general rule of thumb-be VERY skeptical when a used car is going for less than $2,500.

I don't see any problem with a used car not being thousands of dollars.

But if it's under $1000, be warned it's probably a piece of poop. I've seen people get used cars at $2,000 with no negative repercussions whatsoever.
I really hate how I've made more than 12,000 posts here. Thankfully this swaying, moving Chandelure makes it all worth it.

If a car is found "that" cheap of course it's going to suck in some way.

It also depends on the car.  If it's a Geo/Chevy Metro, chances are you won't get one for much above $500 anyway (though, beyond fuel efficiency, it's a slow little poop, with a sloppy transmission).  If it's, say, a Hyundai Tiburon that is less than 10 years old going for less than $2,500, then I'd say no.

Yeah...

Too bad this place doesn't get money off of people's stupidity, because Silver would be rich.
