the AP tests for English are basically watered down versions of the ACT reading and writing sections and the essays are just SPOUT YOUR OPINION AND USE SOURCES FOR ONE OF THEM

That was never a rule for me when I was in school. If I wanted to, I could take the AP English 4 exam even though I took regular English.
