Well, it's not exactly a "Mature" show. Limited blood if any at times, no swearing, no sexuality (although you do get the awkward Dad/Son bathing moments). It's not a kids show, but not a mature show.

the dub on dvd has a ton more blood

• IGPX (modern, but very good)
• Sgt. Frog (hilarious)
• Akira (it's an amazing, classic anime movie)
• Tokyo Godfathers (another amazing anime movie, albeit recent)
• Digimon
• Naruto (You might as well since it's so popular. The lovers overrate it, the haters over-hate it--but if you find the good non-filler episodes, it's actually a decent anime IMHO.)
• Spirited Away (a great, charming, unique movie)
• Ponyo (another great, charming, unique movie made by Hayao Miyazaki, the same guy who did Spirited Away)
