On December 5th, GamePro shuts down as an independent site and becomes the game section of PCWorld.com.

I personally have only ever purchased one GamePro magazine, but they've been around for 20 years and they're a pretty well-known name in the industry. So long, GamePro.

Eh, magazines and such are rather pointless what with the internet. Up until streaming became far more feasible they had a place but with HD pics and videos of games and news up by the day, magazines are just kind of old hat as far as gaming goes.

GamePro went downhill near the end, it was a horrible magazine last I read it.

The only way a magazine can do well is if it is quarterly. Then you can't report news, and most magazines don't know what to do.

The exception I read is Retro Gamer, which is monthly. It obviously doesn't report news, and does well. Make Magazine is a quarterly one, but that's almost a book, it has so much information.

Honestly never read it, but I'm not too surprised. That's how most things are going nowadays.

It's a day to day website as well that just brought in its highest numbers ever for its web property.

Gamepro's last issues as a monthly were alright. Their new quarterlies are fantastic (and now dead).
