In a holiday moot trivia first, a bot has won trivia! Okay, not really, but you know. Congratulations to TEC (sure...) on the victory!

As always I cannot thank everyone enough and I hope very much to see you next year during what should be a very, very special TENTH game!

RULES OF HOLIDAY MOOT TRIVIA

These will be re-explained on Wednesday evening.

SUMMARY: There are four rounds of elimination trivia. The winners of those four rounds face off in a final round to determine a final winner.

GAMEPLAY: Each round consists of elimination-style trivia. I'll ask a question after announcing what the reward of the question is. The first person to answer that question correctly will win that reward. Question themes are random and of some Nintendo games, but probably mostly random general knowledge. The rewards of questions include...

MOOT: Allows you to moot, or "mute," a number of players in the game. By muting them, they will be effectively out of the game for that round, unable to speak. You may be able to choose exactly who you want to moot, or it may depend on the positioning of the winner's name on the list of people in the chat room.

UNMOOT: Allows you to bring people who have been mooted back in the game. There are also questions that specifically target people who are mooted, allowing them to private message me answers and earn a spot back into that round. So don't disappear if you get mooted, there will be chances to return.

OTHERS: Past rewards have included vetos, shields, etc. which modify gameplay in different ways.

Note that there are many different types of moots, sizewise. We may experience questions in which one person is mooted, or two, or four... or more...

Gameplay in that round continues until one person is left standing. That one person is the winner of that round. We play four rounds, each of which have one winner. The four winners move on to the final round. If anyone wins multiple rounds, that just means that less people will be in the final. SO, it is in your best interest to continue competing even if you win a round—it could significantly increase your chances of winning in the final round.

FINAL ROUND: With the four (or less) people who move on to the final round, we play a point-based trivia round. Each first correct answer is worth one point. Whoever reaches the predetermined point total first (which will be announced at the time of the finals) will win the game.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFO

- If you enter the chat room late in the middle of a round, you are still eligible to be unmooted
- Arriving at any point in the night, provided you show up before the championship round, gives you a chance to win, HOWEVER, your chances will obviously be much lower
- If you have any further questions please ask here or on the night of the game

*** CASH PRIZE OMG ***

The winner will receive $20 via PayPal if they have that. If not, I will mail them $15 cash instead. So you win cash no matter what if you win.

Thanks a lot, guys. I hope you all can make it! If you have any questions, let me know.

Darn, no possibility for the 28th?
Let's do it on a Friday like SHAUN used to during Moot Trivia's heyday. >:(

Just kidding. You're in charge. I'm happy with anything.

Holy crap all my sigs were always poop. Best leave this space alone.

King_Gamer28

Something has come up for me that would make the 26th a far more preferable date, and might actually render the 27th impossible. Is anyone unable to actually do the 26th?

Two new alternate dates in very early January are now posted but I'm leaning heavily toward the 26th.
