i highly doubt that they had initially planned a one-year development time for a game such as this.

Yeah, it sure is a bummer. I just try not to listen to what the release date is claimed to be until at least 3 weeks before said date. Otherwise, I keep my expectations up, just as I did this time, and then I'm disappointed. At least they didn't move it up to summer of '08. :-\

well look at the bright side.. this gives nintendo an oppurtininty to add more things to the game. ;)

It's true and not true at the same time, Nintendo did want Smash bros at launch, but when they announced it, Brawl wasn't even in motion...but once Brawl was unveiled they confirmed it'd be released in 2007...

Pfft, they're not adding more says IGN, something about bugs and such. They phailed us is the bottom line, wether we have stuff to endure the wait or not.. :(

Call me crazy, but wouldn't launching a game WITH bugs be more of a "they failed us" statement? Things happen during development. The fact that they appear to be trying to fix it sends me the opposite feeling of "failure".

Sure, it's very disappointing, but I wouldn't say they failed us.
