Maybe the reason that they haven't shown the 4 original unlockables is because they'll be unlockable once again.

Who knows? Maybe it's for nostalgia...

I know it seems kind of useless since Falcon and Ness have been starters already, but who knows what Sakurai's thinking?

Well, out of the REMAINING original 12, only 2 of the 4 were unlockable in Meelee.

BUT, ty isn't impossible to revert ALL 4 back into unlockables. ALSO, though, it's possible that none will return! But as well, it's possible that they just simply haven't been updated yet!

ANYTHING is possible, and NO theories are excluded in this topic!
