I think it helps decide what career path you should take.  I really needed to take it :P  There were over 100 multiple choice questions of math, english, science, and reading.  Thye alotted a certain amount of time to each one.  Apparantly not enough, as I did not finish the last three subject groups, and like a state test, you couldn't go back to answer the missed questions  :|

Yeah, that was a boring three hours.  It even cost me (well my parents, I wouldn't have payed for it myself) $10, and cost me some sleep.  I hope I get good results...   :(

Commander Awesome

I remember taking it, and finding it rather easy.

Yeah, I took that.

Told me I should be in freaking law enforcement.

I hate guns and arguing, what the hell? >_>

PLAN is easy, but you should think of it as "ACT Lite". The formatting of the test is exactly the same as the ACT, but the questions are sophomore-level instead of junior-level, and there are less questions on PLAN than there are on ACT.

You can add 4 to your PLAN score; that's a good estimation of what you'll get on the ACT assuming you make 'average' academic progress between this year and next year.

And don't worry about the career test, it's a load of crap.

Finally, having taken both the SAT and ACT, I can definitively say that the ACT is easier. There's no guessing penalty on the ACT, the English section is laughably easy (the trade-off is a slightly harder Reading). Math is tough to compare...ACT likes applied math more, while SAT likes straight-from-the-book type questions more. And Science Reasoning is a joke; it's just an excuse to boost your composite score if you know how to read graphs. It tries to psyche you out with a bunch of crazy-looking science terms, but all you need to do is look at the pictures.

I took the SAT like two years ago.
I've actually never heard of the PLAN before.

I took it a few weeks ago. I really wonder what it will say about me.

I took the ACT last year, and got a 20, which I thought was pretty good.
Too many graphs in science, though.

SAT in middle school usually means the Stanford 9 test.

me too, I took it this morning.

There were no major lulz though...I was hoping for another ridiculous made-up math word.  What was that one from last year's test...triplicatorating or something

I dunno. I got some score sheet, I'm not sure if it even showed percentile. I think I remember it being a bit above 50% for some strange reason >_>
