It's not a "DS Franchise"

It's a Nintendo System Franchise as a whole. They chose the DS because of the pictochat stage and because it was the only one with a logo. You can't make an icon the word "Wii" or "NES" in big letters, it would look silly.

So what is the "Nintendo Franchise" playable character? Well, it's what has been generally put down and said to never have a chance...Miis.

Discuss.

That is horrible reasoning. The word Wii or NES would look fine as a logo. The icon is of the DS, so that means the character is for the DS. If it were to just be the Nintendo Franchise the icon would be something related to Nintendo, like an N. The trouble is though, I can't think of any character that's on the DS that isn't part of a game...

Well, hold on. I guess you might be right about about if just being for Nintendo Franchise in general, but not because of the reason you listed. Some of the music that gets played on the stage is from the Wii. So I guess you are right. In that case I'd have to say with great conviction that the character is a Mii. You'll be able to choose one of the Miis you've created and play as it.

I don't see why a generic Mii couldn't be used, I mean we're getting Pokemon Trainer and most likely Animal Crossing Patron. Moveset's the issue.

Tennis rackets, golf clubs, bowling bawls, the side move could be a cow. (Wii Play) Also, the ACer can use what they use in the games. :)
