I'd think Bioshock would be more painful in terms of variety of deaths. You can be shocked, burnt, frozen, blown up, shot, stabbed, bludgeoned and eviscerated. All by psychotic splicers who do everything from hang on the ceiling, dissapear into clouds smoke, play dead to kill you up close and best of all, sing a very well done rendition of "Jesus Loves Me".
