tl;dr: The mods were gone for 3 hours and there was this game over at smashboards around January where it was basically like Hurt and Heal. Ridley lost and the Ridley fanbase over there was easily the biggest, so they got mad. Six members really TORE the whole Brawl board (Remember, the brawl board was like 70% of activity at the time). They copy and pasted the entire Ridley thread like 1000 times and went into every other character thread and raided them with bashes and insults. They got a poopload of alt accounts too. The thread names were good too so it wasn't the same. They were like "Ridley, that's right!" Or "Ridley's hot!"

People eventually got annoyed at about 15 minutes in later on and started going batpoop insane with other threads. There was just...So many threads.

Oh and I was there with cupcakes. It was extremely hilarious and like 27 users ended up getting banned (Discluding alts) And some dude with a falco avatar and I and a few others really paraded the whole show just by watching and never got banned.

Very entertaining. You had to have been there. Easily one of the best E-Drama shows I've ever seen.

And as stated in the policy announcement, they take time to load we don't want to deal with in this thread. You had a chance to ninny when it was instituted, you didn't. If everyone actually used the thread for what it was for like they did in the chat, then things would be fine. But people have issues clicking two extra things, it seems. Tough.

It could have been a good idea at the time.

It obviously failed.

When new ideas fail, you either improve on them or go back to how things were.

Right now the right option would be the latter.

No, it would be encouraging users to get off their asses. Apathy is an issue that needs to end. Frankly, the fact our users need to use the chat thread as oxygen is embarrassing. It's the only thing most post in (admittedly, I've been guilty as of late with grad prep, and wanting to check in). With that said, though, I've also been doing things beyond it, so I excuse myself. No one else (bar Silver) really has that excuse. Face it - NSFCD isn't worth the money to renew hosting if our users can't intercourse ing use a thread for YT videos, and instead insist on using one thread for EVERYTHING.
