I wish Silent Hill 2 worked properly on my computer.
But no, it crashes for no reason.
You using a Dual core or a Quad?

Dual. Thing is, I was able to play it months ago all the way through with little to no problems. I reinstalled it just because, and now it's derping out.

Tupin

The game's from 2002. How can you not run it, is it a compatibility problem?

You try assigning it to a single core? Or maybe you didn't update it, I dunno. There were supposed to be problems running it on Windows 7 & a dual-core, but I never had any. I updated, applied the fix for Intel GPUs, & played.

The PC versions of the Silent Hill games were pretty specific to one Windows version or the other.

Well, when it ran fine it was on Vista. Perhaps that's it.

My best guess, run it in Vista or XP compatibility, & disable all but one core. Or just Dual-boot 7 & Vista?

I kinda gave up on PC gaming for these kinds of reasons. I don't have the patience for tinkering if something doesn't work anymore.
