Out of the 4 movies slots available at my local theatre, 2 are movies (neither of which I've heard of), another is a pay per view Hockey game, and the third is the first Harry Potter movie (which I'm figuring they think it will make more money than what's available).

It made me laugh anyways. XD

Anyone else see a good movie drought as bad as this/my experience? :P

I'd laugh too. That is a bit over the top. XD

That reminds me of the other movie drought a few years ago, they started playing one of the Lord of the Rings movies when it came out, and they kept it in theatres for 3/4 of the rest of the year. :D

Well, you DO have the stupid people who see it with their friends the first time, and a week later, same friends "ZOMG LESS GOGOGOGO C LORD UF DA BLINGZ RINGS!"

You guys have pretty small theaters. My theater has 30 screens. 1-10 are playing current movies, and 11-30 are playing anything else that will make money.

Jono2

they were playing the bourne ultimatum here last week... but thats because the theater had fire damage a while ago.

they played Finding Nemo for 2 weeks straight when it came out to theatres...

I'm very careful when I go to see a movie. I just don't go for the heck of it. If its gonna be worth my money, like SpiderMan or StarWars or any move that has made a positive impact, then I'll go see it. As it stands, there are movies at my theater that I never heard of and don't care for at all. Hollywood needs to clean up their act. :|

SPIDERMAN 3 SUCKED!

Wappa

That's because most people want blood gore and realistic violence. They've become so insensitized by watching that stuff repeatedly, that it doesn't bother them. I liked Spidey 3 because it had a good lesson in forgiveness. Plus they're just trying to follow the comic as closely as possible and fit it into a movie. ;)

Commander Awesome

I haven't been out there in a while, but it was Spiderman for the first five screens, then whatever the intercourse  they wanted in the rest.

So in other words, you only watch the movies that are advertised extensively? You should rethink that and take your chances more often, unless of course over 65% of critics absolutely hate it. There are plenty of gems released every so often that get no attention.

I do live in a small population area, so its understandable in my case. For those that live in a larger city I'd expect more showings. :P

I did that like three times and was digusted to the point I couldn't eat dinner that night.

Well of course you're going to see a bad movie once in a while. I don't mind seeing a bad one every once in a while myself. It provides minor lulz.

I just like to support movies that I know are going to be good. Like not one cent am I going to spend on a horror flick.
