After 1/2 a semester, I finally submitted a black and white photo.  It looks like crap now that I trimmed white off the edges and estimated where it went onto the boarder thing.  Well, I bet it'll get a B-, at best D:

Are you taking a manual photography class, as in using film SLR cameras? If so, I've taken 3 semesters of manual photography classes. I want to be a photojournalist and photography is my passion.  Do you develop and roll and print the photos yourself? Cuz we did and it sounds like you did too by your description of what you've done to the border/edges.
