We seriously need to do something if we want....

To keep the NSider community together. This forum is very well put together, except that we don't have a large enought user-base. I mean right now we only have about 45 members or so logged in. While NS2 usually would have about 700 members logged in at this time, except that the server always goes down. So we should try to get all those people from NS2 to join up here...Here and NS2 are the only re-created NSider's that are actually active...I'm sure there are others on free-forum hosts such as InvisionFree and Proboards but those are probably not active. All the smaller forums that were based around NSider like Boyah, and Outsider used to be very active but now only have a hand full of users that log in everyday. I'm afraid that if we don't do something that all the forums will become inactive and that the whole NSider community and all the forums based around it will become a thing of the past, and we will have no way of getting in contact with our friends from these forums. :(

Do we really want all those people from Nsider2? I like that this is a smaller community, with a lot of really cool people. Of course, more people is good, but I don't want this to become Nsider2.

Who knows when NSider 2 will be back up though? You know? It could be awhile...so some of those people probably will come here cause they have no other place to go.

I agree with you on most of your post. I really like this small community, but bigger is not neccesarily (sp?) always better. Most of the people on NSider2 are spammers. Do we want a bunch of spammers here? I believe we should remain solitary.

I dont really care. I love this smaller community way better than an out of hand large one. We are closer here andI would like it to stay that way.

1. NSF isn't trying to compete with NS2. There's a million forums that ex-Nsiders have gone to, and NS2 isn't really that special among them.

2. You exaggerate their active userbase; they'd probably have about 350-370 users online right now.

3. If you want more people here, then invite them, don't tell me and S1lver to do it.

4. This server would probably have trouble with 350+ people online at once anyway.

But, uh, yeah. It's up to you guys (the users) what level of activity is best, and if you want more, then get more people to come here.
