Why not just use AIM? Or get AOL it has AIM built into it.

Because like all AOL software, it's a piece of poopty bloatware that tries to install stuff on your computer constantly?
Even Winamp?
AOL doesn't make Winamp....

AOL is involved with Winamp. When I downloaded it and went to install it, it said the publisher was America Online.

The Nullsoft Story
One part genius. Three parts llama. And a sprinkling of corporate AOL. That's what Nullsoft is all about.\

Also this,

"Nullsoft is now a division of AOL Music."

But they don't make it, like they directly designed AIM and that poopty browser it came with.

What's there to get? AOL owns the people who made it, so AOL owns it. Meaning you like something that AOL owns even though you hate AOL.

There's a difference between being AOL software and being software designed by a company that is owned by AOL.

Think of Nullsoft as a second party developer and AOL as the first party.   They own nullsoft, by they don't develop the software.

I never said they did develop it.

Then it's not AOL Software.

Hiei was talking about the software developed by AOL and you said "Even WinAMP?"

You can bet AOL has some involvement in it though seeing how they have owned Nullsoft since 1999. And I seriously doubt that AOL has let them do whatever they want with it for the past eight years.

Even Winamp?

Haven't used it in years. I prefer Windows Media Player, iTunes, or Amarok. But if AOL got their grubby paws on it, it probably is now.
