I own this game on the NES and if you want to play it it's on the NFES.

Anyway, I was just wondering if any of you out there have beat it. I found the walkthrough for it and it's a really long game. I didn't get very far without any help and I've still never beat it. It just got really frustrating after a while.

Don't know if it's the one you found (probably not, but, who knows), but, I actually wrote a walkthrough for Shadowgate myself (which can be found, among other places, on GameFAQs, IGN, and my website, specifically, here).

Yeah, some of the puzzles can be rather on the confusing side, and not always the most logical things. Still, it's fun to play around with stuff and see what happens ;)

I use to own it on the NES.  I played it quite often.  I found it pretty easy though...

The biggest problem I had was that there were only a limited number of tourches, so I'd try and conserve them and ended up letting them go out trying to get just one more thing done before lighting a new one...

Yeah, the torches made the game a lot harder, but I guess I just didn't play it enough to get very far.
