Whenever I turn it off, the screen takes about a minute for the image to fully fade. I can still see the picture until then. Is this a result of it being old or something? I got it like 4 and a half years ago.

what i did was i took the game out then turned it on then back off.

Something must be screwed up. I've had my GBA and GBA SP for a long time and the screen fades out instantly after I turn it off.

Thanks to mackormoses for this badass sig!

huh?
No, this has nothing to do with the cartridge. Instead of the screen suddenly turning blank when I slide the power switch, I see an ellipse of faded pixels in the center of the screen while all the other pixels are slightly faded. The ellipse slowly expands until the screen is completely blank after about a minute. It does this both with a downloaded game (like the Tiny Chao Garden from Sonic Adventure 2: Battle or a single-pack multiplayer game) and with an actual cartridge (like Sonic Advance).
This doesn't affect gameplay at all, so it's just an oddity. Not really a problem.

Hm. That's definitely weird. :P

Mine does it for about 10 seconds, so maybe its on its way to becoming like yours.  :D

Happy Holidays!!!

If it doesn't affect gameplay and usage I wouldn't worry about it.

well, my GBA takes a while to completely fade, i used to play it a lot (though not anymore) and my SP goes right off, though if ive been playing for a long time without stopping, it takes 1 to 3 seconds...
I really hate how I've made more than 12,000 posts here. Thankfully this swaying, moving Chandelure makes it all worth it.

I have a rather large and annoying piece of dust or something under my screen, anyway to get rid of it?

snowmonkey

I never knew that happened to GBA SPs, but it's just probably old age or overuse.

RosettaStoned

I have this problem, and I've only had it for about a year or two.

the image is starting to burn into the screen it happens all the time at game stores, almost time to get a new one unless you like the design on it and its limited edition like my nes one then you get a used one at gamestop or something

you have to open your gba but by doing this you can insert even more dust particles

so be careful
