We don't have the same situation in canada, but where I live, we get at least 250 new german immigrants a year (in this city alone) that speak little to no english.  they flood the schools and they're basically taking over.

it's not that anyone wants to describe them badly, it's that the situation is that they're replacing the original inhabitants, and frankly, it annoys people.

Why? When the British issued the Proclamation Line to prevent the colonists from moving unto the Native American land, the colonists ignored it and stated in the Declaration of Independence that it was an infringement on their rights.

Because they make no effort to learn english.  If you're going to move into a new country, you should at least try to learn ONE of the two dominant languages (english or french in this case).  they don't, and that's the issue.  Yes, they're hard workers, but at the same time, you can't communicate with them.

Well, the Roman way could be utilized and force them to learn the language or be killed. >_> Many people are incapable of learning a new language in their early years, or at the least it's very difficult. If I were to go to Germany, it would be near impossible for me to learn the language because I am not suited to learning language.



My point is, history is repeating itself again. Every major civilization in the world, excluding Egypt, has collapsed, and what the United States and did to the Native Americans is occuring again to the US. The Spanish take from Mesoamericans, the Mexicans overthrow Spanish, US overthrows Mexicans...

Maybe it's different there, but here the kids do take the initiative to learn English, and many of us try to learn Spanish. (I live in Texas, BTW) Well, nothing can be done, I just wish people would stop treating them as... "inferior beings", so to speak. That's why Mithos is my avatar. XD
