We all sat there all those years and posted and posted and posted.

And now I felt like it was a waste of time...

I can't really understand the way people talk about losing all the work into the posts.  They've served their purpose, and it's unlikely that anyone would ever read most of them again.  It's like being upset because words you speak aren't saved to look back on later. 

It wasn't a waste of time.  If you actually enjoyed the time you spent there, then how was any of it wasted?  The only reason you could consider it wasted is if you value your postcount and reputation more than the forum itself. 

I'm with you on the friend comment, though.  It wasn't really fair to leave people without ways to contact friends from Nsider.  That doesn't really apply to me, though.  All the friends I had from Nsider are people I have contact with through AIM or otherwise.  For those who don't, that would be an annoying problem.
