My mom may not be overprotective, but my town certaintly is.

I know my school tracks us.  They admit it, and they have rules posted on the walls.  If a teacher reports you, the admins will actually ban you from the school computers.

Mine do. (school)

There are cheesy posters that say

"Big Brother is Watching"

and the like.

I'm pretty sure that ours does, but it's not like it matters.  They aren't going to ban you for playing games, they'll just block the game sites.  they can lock down computers individually with a demonic program called Synchroneyes (though it's really easy to avoid, you can get kicked off the system/suspended/expelled for doing so).

Mine does too, but it's not like they're going to punish us for it.  They may make a mention of it, but they don't ever punish us for something that we've gone wrong on the internet.

I bet every teacher has tracked down at least one of their students on myspace or facebook.

I mean at home.
That sounds like invasion of privacy.
If I knew my town was watching me on the net, I'd make them see a lot of things.  ;D
Besides, I've been to 7chan at school (which surprisingly they don't block), and nothing bad happened to me.

lulz, my dad thinks I don't go on chatrooms, and he actually said "if you go on a chatroom, I will destroy the thing" or something like that.  Good thing we don't live in the same house @_@

Make sure to clear your history.  Some parents perceive the internet the wrong way.

oh, my mom is mostly fine with it.  But of course, I have it set that it clears the history every time the browser is closed ::)
