This is looking to be a really good setlist...

The Rolling Stones, Blue Oyster Cult, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam, Tenacious D, Guns n' Roses (FUCK YES PARADISE CITY), Tool, Muse, Ozzy Osbourne, Rush, Van Halen, Megadeth, Metallica, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Satriani and Buckethead (YES). And yet another Dragonforce song (this one could be harder than ttfaf guys...)

If this is indeed the correct setlist, it beats RB2's by a landslide. However, I'll probably still get RB2 because of the song backward compatibility.

Ok. A few things.

Yay, REO, bad song choice, though.
Yay, Spirit of Radio.
Yay, Zakk Wylde Battle
Yay, Ted Nugent battle + Stranglehold
Yay, Sweet Home Alabama
Yay, The Eagles, bad song choice, though, at least compared to Hotel California. =\
Yay, Crazy Train
Yay, Hendrix.
Yay, Hallowed Be Thy Name

And here are the supergood...

FUCK YEAH MASTER OF PUPPETS
FUCK YEAH PARADISE CITY
FUCK YEAH MAKING PROGRESS TOUR

There's some not so great stuff.

Also, doesn't Sting play bass lol? BASS BATTLE

Wait, so we can still discuss possible songs for the setlist in GH:WT Here?

Anyhow, fury of the storm is really harder than ttfaf, and It's a better song, so If It was actually added in, that would be great. I really wanted to see the good left undone on the real GH:WT Setlist as well.

It's better than I expected, but as a Guitar Hero game, it fills it's poop quota and then some. Low? SERIOUSLY? I don't care if it's a remix, get it the intercourse  out of my game. The Joker almost makes up for it, but darn.

I love the songs confirmed so far. Except for Low. I have low expectations for that song on guitar. Especially bass. After the DMC disaster, I don't wanna play a rap song on bass. :[

Practically, Guitar Hero is turning into a teenager. It's starting to care about what most people like, rather than what would be good for it.
Title: Re: The Official Guitar Hero: World Tour Setlist/DLC Discussion Thread
Post by: Ron on August 23, 2008, 07:43:27 PM
FYI, plenty more songs have been confirmed including- (Even though I haven't heard almost all of them)

Escuela de Calor - Radio Futura
Good Good - Anouk
Hail to the Freaks - Beatsteaks
Monsoon - Tokio Hotel
Shiver - Coldplay
Toy Boy - Stuck in the Sound
You're Goona Say Yeah - Hush Puppies

Now to respond to the thread and to this ^

Being a huge fan of Coldplay, I can respectfully say GTFO. I mean of all artists, they had to put Coldplay in it? I don't think "Guitar Hero" when i hear Coldplay. They could've put anything better...I mean, Atreyu, Black Stone Cherry, Sum 41, anything better than Coldplay.

However I'm a huge fan of Travis Barker...and even though i hate that stupid song "Low" I hope the drumming will be fun.
dangit was probably the best choice for a Blink-182 song to put on for this.

You might not think Linkin Park belongs on it, but just because a band becomes mainstream, and everyone starts liking it, doesn't mean all of a sudden that you shouldn't. I've liked them since the very beginning, and I would definitely agree that they would be great in guitar hero.
However they could've picked a MUCH better song, in fact, they chose 2 of the worst. What I've Done will be easy as pie, and In The End...ehh...could've done so much better. But thank god they didn't pick Bleed it out. God that would've been repetitive.

2 thumbs up for Santeria,
Hot For Teacher is going to be insane.
I've always thought BYOB should be on it.
F** Beat It
F** Bon Jovi
And pray to god that the rest of the songs will make up for what they've shown already, or at least hope they do MUCH better with downloadable content.
Looking forward to Metallica's New Album being downloadable content.

Btw, they said there would be more than 85 songs, they have only released 51.

What I've said earlier still stands.

Guitar Hero is now a sellout.

Coldplay? Seriously? Just because they have a new album doesn't mean they belong on Guitar Hero...

New songs today-

Heartbreaker - Pat Benatar
L'Via L'Viaquez - Mars Volta
One Way Or Another - Blondie
Vinternoll 2 -Kent

There at at least 30 songs left to discover.
hopefully they surprise us with something good towards the end.

EDIT:
Oh and they have announced some downloadable content now as well-

The Entire Death Magnetic Album by Metallica will be downloadable content.
Along with an R.E.M. pack consisting of

Horse to Water
Man-Sized Wreath
Supernatural Superserious.

They've also said that more Jimi Hendrix will be downloadable as well, but they have not announced which songs.

Eh, all the DLC stuff is old news.

Pat Benetar - eh
TMV - eh
Blondie - ok, I guess
Kent - lolwut?

I might only consider getting WT now for the Metallica DLC... and Jimi Hendrix. And Ozzy. Hm... It's always been like that, though, there are really only a few songs that I like on the whole game.

These are all the confirmed songs listed on Wikipedia as of August 20th, 2008. This list is subject to grow as more songs are confirmed.

Rooftops: Lostprophets
They chose the most popular one, not the best one for that band D:
Well at least that band got in at all, it'll be mostly perfect once Dragonforce gets a song :D

Not on the list, but confirmed:

Lenny Kravitz - "Are You Gonna Go My Way?" (12)
Hush Puppies "You're Gonna Say Yeah," (13, 14) *

Only a rumor, but a lot of the songs have proven to be true so far (like the leak of those four songs today) So, what does everyone say about this?

As for the new songs, pretty good. I only really hate low, and some choices from good bands I don't agree with, but most of It seems fine so far.

I hope that list above isn't real...I mean, there's a few good songs, but it's still yet to "Wow" me...
Would definitely love for 30 Seconds to Mars to make their way on Guitar Hero...Great band.

But honestly, if that list was true i'm pretty sure that someone would update it on Wikipedia, cuz people have been really serious about doing that.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.
As for the links you gave me, i don't see anywhere where it proves that those are true.

And "Are You Goona Go My Way" and the Hush Puppies song have already been confirmed.

Thanks for the updates while I was on vacation, guys; the thread's been updated accordingly. If you know of any other confirmed songs, please post and let me know provided they are sourced. It's considered "sourced" in my book if it's from an official Neversoft announcement or if it's on Wikipedia with an inline citation. Again, thanks.

(It's during the scrolls) 'Love Removal Machine' By the cult will be in (At least...on the demo) So put that at least under rumored songs.

AND IT'S NOT ON THE FAKE SETLIST, YAY HOPE...HOPEFULLY.

I hope that list above isn't real...I mean, there's a few good songs, but it's still yet to "Wow" me...

Sadly, I think It will probably end up as most of the real deal, when you look at the newly confirmed stuff and all, these are the only songs not in:
(As for the hush puppies song and 'Are you gonna go my Way' Remember, the guy wrote most of this from memory, so he did mess up a few things If this is the real deal, meaning there's possibility for a bit more)

Quote
30 Seconds to Mars - "The Kill"
311 - "Beautiful Disaster"
Allman Brothers - "Ramblin' Man"
Bullet For My Valentine - "Scream Aim Fire"
Dream Theater - "Pull Me Under
Filter - "Hey Man Nice Shot"
Jane's Addiction - "Mountain Song"
Joe Sanatri - "Satch Boogie" (Rumored)
Korn - "Freak on a Leash" (Leaked news on getting a KoRn song)
Lacuna Coil - "Our Truth"
The Living End - "Prisoner of Society"
Los Lobos - "La Bamba"
Lynard Skynard - "Sweet Home Alabama"
Muse -"Assassin" (Leaked news on Muse getting a song)
NOFX - "Soul Doubt" (NOFX Leak)
The Police - "Demolition Man" (lol drummer leak?)
REM - "The One I Love"
Rise Against - "Re-education Through Labor"
Sex Pistols - "Pretty Vacant"
Smashing Pumpkins - "Today" (There already is a SP Song, so that is one thing that makes me doubt this, or wiki could be wrong, we'll have to wait and see)
Steely Dan - "Do It Again"
The Stone Roses - "Love Spreads"
Ted Nugent - "Stranglehold"
Tool - "Parabola", "Schism", "Vicarious" (Tool leaks says hi)
Trust - "Antisocial"
Willie Nelson - "On the Road Again"
Wings - "Band On the Run"
Kick out the Jams (?)

(About 30 songs there)
Well, I just wonder how they're going to put that joe sanatri song being that It's an instrumental, but still, a lot of It is already confirmed, so I think what we're looking at here is some songs that may be on the disc, hopefully the last few tracks the person missed tho complete this setlist, as I Do like It, but there's not really anything much to finish It off that says 'Wow' To me as well. (Anyone remember the 99999 and so on Youtube videos of TTFAF?)

If this is indeed real, I only want megadeth and QOTSA in, then It makes It complete for me, but then again, It could be wrong as well like that amazing one with pink floyd on It. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

We'll just have to see what happens, as you said. There's a possibility that that is correct, but as i said, i've been checking on the actual setlist on wikipedia...and it still only has those 55 songs or so.

If The Bullet for My Valentine is true, that seriously would piss me off...considering that's one of the worst songs by them, and they could've picked something sooo much better such as Hit The Floor or Hearts Burst Into Fire. Hell, even Waking the Demon would be better.

But i guess give it a few days, or a few weeks, if they start confirming more songs that are in that list, then i'll start to believe in it a bit more. they should be releasing the entire setlist pretty soon.

And just checked out the video, you are correct about Love Removal Machine being in it.

Oh, and the Rise Against song...that is one that i am actually happy about. It's a really new song, but it's pretty good. fairly easy, but still good.

You Forgot to change the date on the first thread to August 24th xP
And you're welcome.

New songs today-

Any Way You Want It - Journey
Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac

Least that's all i could see on Wikipedia.
Likin' the Journey here though. :D

Journey - GHIII DLC much? Hm. I guess it doesn't have drums or vocals... and, hey, isn't it gonna be on RB2?

Journey's not really, It was false. Wiki edited It, and yeah, It's in RB2/GH3 DLC, but remember:We have a good number of RB2 copies + Spiderwebs is in OT.

As for rise against, they aren't really a crazy band of some sorts, so most songs would be easy, I would've preferred the good left undone or Ready to Fall but the one (Despite being from an album that will come out what? 1 month before WT?) I like It If It's real.

I'm not really sure, with love removal machine at this point, I'm 50/50 on this. I just wonder what the next leaked songs will be. As for the real setlist, If they go at the recent speed of leaks, It should be done/mostly done by mid-end of september (Just my guess on It)

Lol, only 19 days after. xP I agree with you on the choices for Rise against songs...Ready to Fall would've been my pick...but i guess they had Prayer of the Refugee from that album on the last game so they don't wanna seem repetitive (even though they've had Black Sabbath in every single game except this new one...well as far as we know at least)

I was really hoping for some Atreyu in this game too. Doomsday or Falling Down would've been perfect.

They seem to have slowed down the past few days, still don't have anything new....

And yeah i noticed they took Journey off the list, which is a disappointment, i was looking forward to it. hopefully we get some in dlc.

I saw a Mars Volta song listed on Wikipieda.
L'via L'viaquez. If that's true...<33333
There's some great guitar stuff in there, and it's like 7 minutes long.

Sadly, I'm pointing more and more towards the leaked setlist, the only things I really miss that aren't on this are warriors of time (Black Tide) A Song for the Dead (Queens of the Stone Age) And Tornado of Souls (Megadeth) But It's rather a bit disappointing on other ends for other people, and I can see why.

anyhow, onto the proof of the gamestop ad:

This means these bands are basically confirmed/likely to be in It:
*** Pistols
Lacuna Coil
Jimmy Eat World
Stone Roses
Bullet for my Valentine
Willie Nelson
The Living End
Wings
Rise Against
MC5
Steely Dan
REM
Lynyrd Skynyrd
311
(Along with a few others, I saw jane's addiction on that ad :3)
...Which confirms most of the doubtable parts of the leaked setlist

They added some new songs on Wikipedia...and all of them actually are on that list you have up there...so from the looks of it i'm going to guess that that is the correct list.

Well, we already knew It but...
http://uk.gamespot.com/news/6197604.html?tag=latestheadlines;title;1

84 songs altogether besides the two battle songs, I'm just wondering, since when did the battle songs count? That about evens It up to RB2.

Oh, and this means 'In the end' 'Light my Fire' 'Low' and 'Bullet with Butterfly wings' Are fake (lol magazine leaks)

...kinda annoyed that apparently, I can't drive 55 is probably going to be in that new portable DS gh game instead, but overall, this list is amazing (...At least to me :P)

Oh and first post update please?

I know some people don't like GH:WT's setlist, but I for one, really like it.

There are quite a few songs I'm excited for:
Beat It - Michael Jackson (Michael Jackson's vocals with Eddie Van Halen's guitar? Hell yeah!)
Santeria - Sublime (Love this song)
Anyway You Want It - Journey (I love Journey.)
Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac (Extremely catchy song)
Hotel California - The Eagles (Who wouldn't be excited for this song?)
Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi (Awesome song)
Everlong - Foo Fighters
American Woman - The Guess Who
The Middle - Jimmy Eat World (I didn't even realize it was in the game until now.)
Are You Gonna Go My Way - Lenny Kravitz
What I've Done - Linkin Park (Yes, I do like that song. >_>)
La Bamba - Los Lobos (I'm glad they included a Spanish song. ;D)
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynard Skynard (Love this song)
Rebel Yell - Billy Idol

That's probably more songs than those that I'm excited for in Rock Band.
I'm sure there will be other songs that I will enjoy when I play the game.

I was really hoping for "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith, but oh well.  :-\

Lmao.
Now I'm really goona laugh if they actually make that in 10 years or something.

Anyways, I'm wondering what the next insane song will be (Jordan, TTFAF)...

I mean they showed us Hot For Teacher...but that does still seem actually "beatable", whereas the other 2 i have still yet to beat (though i've gotten extremely close...dang 84% on TTFAF)

The Joe Satriani song seems like it'll be pretty difficult, but not too bad. I can't WAIT to play "The Day That Never Comes" by Metallica, along with the rest of the album, (Just because that song is amazing, and the rest of the album will be actually challenging in the game).

Rise Against, Sublime...they both seem perfectible...

Anyone have any ideas for what songs will be in which sets?

Edit:
if This song is anything like this...i'll perfect it on the first try... D:

Blink 182 - dangit
Blondie - One Way or Another
Bullet for my Valentine - Scream Aim Fire
Coldplay - Shiver
The Cult - Love Removal Machine
Dinosaur Jr - Feel the Pain
Dream Theater - The Cult
The Eagles - Hotel California
Everlong - Foo Fighters
Interpol - Obstacle 1
Jane's Addiction - Mountain Song
Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze
Joe Satriani - Satch Boogie
Linkin Park - What I've Done
Prisoner of Society - The Living End
Lynard Skynard - Sweet Home Alabama
The Mars Volta - L'Via L'Viaquez
MC5 - Kick out the Jams (re-recorded)
Metallica - Trapped under Ice
Motorhead - Overkill
Muse - Assassin
Nirvana - About a Girl
NOFX - Soul Doubt
Oasis - Some Might Say
Paramore - Misery Buisness
Ozzy Ossbourne - Crazy Train
REM - The one I love
Rise Against - Re-Education through Labor
Sublime - Santeria
Jimmy Eat World - The Middle
Van Halen - Hot for Teacher
Wings - Band on the Run

Overall, the setlist is very nice, I was disappointed with Guitar hero 3 but this here (Seriously, oasis? Nirvana? A good muse song? Crazy Train? Van Halen? Band on the Run? Eagles? ) Will probably be my favorite GH Game. Now we just have to sit here and waittttt for It to come out.  :D

XD Yeah, It is rather funny. I ended up finding a lot of bands/songs thanks to GH. Like I was just listening to 'The Middle' And I remembered IT from the radio and realized how much of a fun song that will be. A lot of the songs are rather easy, but looking more difficult than RB2/RB for the most part, thus good for a band game. (I just hope there's a mic stand that I can get/comes with It so I can play guitar and sing, so many of these songs I want to sing. :D)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgjMOuTHOWY

If It's [Satch Boogie] close to that chart, guys, get ready for the impossible song (Sounds a lot better than visions tbqh, satch boogie >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> visions/ttfaf)

Edit: also lets guess what tiers some songs will be placed in. yay;

so i'm pretty sure i'll end up liking almost all of the songs...i mean i even like Hier Kommt Alex and all those other songs in a different language.

I have some predictions.

Satch Boogie will probably be a bonus song (Lol obvious?)
What I've Done = Tier 1
Trapped under Ice = final tier? (New raining blood?)
Hotel California = If encore's are still around, this would likely be an encore song (Long song, for starters)

And I'm going to guess that hot for teacher will not be on the final tier, since It was shown in demo's, but will be one of the close to final tiers. Kinda hard to guess since we've never seen guitar hero as a band game until now. >.<

I still think it'll be in the final tier (Hot For Teacher) cuz i've really yet to see anything actually harder than that.

Paramore I believe will probably be tier 1 or 2...

Same with Coldplay.

Scream Aim Fire will probably be 2nd to last tier or 3rd to last. (Such as like Before I forget in GH3)

We have enough rush from rock band, possibly DLC? RHCP I don't understand since there drummer was in THE FREAKING VIDEO.

Oh and what in the world were they thinking when putting no sleep till brooklyn in? It's the best official setlist out of all rock band/gh games for me, but come on...

>_>

As for more tiers, I'm guessing bullet for my valentine will be on the bonus list since new bands are usually on there. Overkill I'm guessing on last tier, but I can't get the final encore for this one, I wonder...

I'm guessing No sleep til Brooklyn, the middle, and everlong will also be pretty low, at least on the band tour. I just wish this game would come out soon, only one more month ;-------;

The lack of Rush, Boston, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Guns n' Roses disappoints me. This is the best ever GH setlist, though I'm not sure if it's gonna pass RB2 for me.
We have enough rush from rock band, possibly DLC? RHCP I don't understand since there drummer was in THE FREAKING VIDEO.

Oh and what in the world were they thinking when putting no sleep till brooklyn in? It's the best official setlist out of all rock band/gh games for me, but come on...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtztvaGN92A

>_>

As for more tiers, I'm guessing bullet for my valentine will be on the bonus list since new bands are usually on there. Overkill I'm guessing on last tier, but I can't get the final encore for this one, I wonder...

I'm guessing No sleep til Brooklyn, the middle, and everlong will also be pretty low, at least on the band tour. I just wish this game would come out soon, only one more month ;-------;
this song is from their 2nd album. the first was released in 2005...so they're not new to me xP.
thing is, this album just plain sucks compared to their last. this new one it sounds like they're trying too hard to be badass or something. the last one you could actually understand what he was saying half the time, and still had the heavy riffs and intense beat and everything.
Hit The Floor or Tears Don't Fall would've been much better choices.

i think everlong will be a little further up cuz it is a little bit upbeat later on...maybe tier 2 or 3.

yeah no sleep till brooklyn is just plain stupid, it'll probably be in tier one just like sabatoge was. (for co-op)
about a girl by nirvana...i'm goona guess tier 3 or 4?

Still, they're new to guitar hero. In Flames wasn't that new, yet It got on the bonus list. o.O

Oh, and NOFX's soul doubt Is amazing. I'm guessing 'Soul Doubt' And 'Band on the Run' Will be on the bonus list, assuming there is one (So many questions since there's a video showing the setlist, as It looks very cramped together o.O)

Everlong fits into tier 3, possibly encore, and no sleep till brooklyn, I have no idea on the encore's, but I'm going to say probably tier 1-2, even tho It's hip-hop and a song I hate, It has a 'Somewhat' Hard solo for people not as use to guitar hero.

About a Girl seems right, gah, so many songs to guess, and with 4 instruments/5 different careers, It makes all of this more confusing. XD

Everlong, just because of the drums, will be much later in the game.

Also newness has nothing to do with being on the bonus setlist, it's generally how well known the song is (with the exception of the uber-ridiculous songs which are usually bonus because they would stop a lot of people from finishing the setlist)

I have a feeling you're one of the few people that wanted Dragonforce in GH again.

Their songs do sound similar...

Lol, at least that song doesn't look impossible like TTFAF did when i first saw it.

and i agree, i like their new album more...sounds a lot better, even though some people think it sounds the same.

Yeah, E.P.M. would've been so much fun to play.  Or Reasons to Live's intro :D

Uh...There song would probably be the hardest If It was put in this one, and they've already went dragonforce for the hardest song before, so I'd rather have them just put it in DLC If they really have to.

Here's a bit to speculate over:
http://wiki.scorehero.com/wikka.php?wakka=NSCommunityArticleSinglePlayer

So If that's right, we have about 40-50 songs in career, and by this, we know that some of them may not be boss battles but instead, cameo's, and that the final tier may be shorter than we think + A bit more.

And apparently 'Pull Me Under' Wasn't on the list there - Secret band unlockable song?

Not much, but that can help organize a bit more of guessing the tier. Begin more speculation!

listening to the dream theatre song right...it honestly doesn't sound good enough to be the hardest song...at least it won't even compare to TTFAF...

but what do you think of them changing quickplay into making setlists?
i mean, i like just picking one song and playing it...then i can decide whether i wanna play another one afterwards.....

Panic Attack by Dream Theater in Rock Band 2 is correctly assessed as the hardest song.

Pull Me Under is up there... but not the hardest. More DragonForce is unlikely, but Metallica's Trapped Under Ice might beat PMU for the top...

For guitar, Satch Boogie will be the hardest, I bet.

Actually, there's a good point on scorehero:
http://www.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=77090&sid=32a86c6479411b107289527fdc0bf07d

I really doubt they would add anything else to PMU, but you never know, I mean, It is the only one that didn't show up at the scorehero event, and we all know what happened with TDWDTG

Oh, and more news:
http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/14222045/guitar-hero-4/videos/gh_worldtour_demo_091608.html

We get like, 15+ Free covers with the setlist (Star spangled banner, Flight of the Bumblebee, y and z, and some others shown later in the video) Yay for free covers.

As for difficulty list, right now, I'm thinking:
Band: PMU
Vocals: Probably PMU, or some foreign song.
Guitar: Satch Boogie
Drums: TUI? tool songs? Hard to tell at this point.
Bass: I have no clue.

I don't really care.

Didn't see any others, but I know you forgot KoRn's 'Freak on a Leash'

Oh, and we have no idea whether PMU Will be like freebird (Final Encore) TTFAF (Insanely hard song unlocked after beating career) Or...Something entirely new? (Doubtful) I'm guessing It'll probably be the TTFAF.

AND OMG PRETTY VACANT IS AWESOME.

I hate to say this (not really :P) but I keep seeing hints (one) that the album of Ultra Beatdown (guess what band) will be up for DLC... If that happens and they include the bonus songs then E.P.M. will be one heck of a song to play, it even has a ton of keyboard for neversoft to overchart.

No, no, no. The chart doesn't feel even close to the song then and It just turns into another DDR. :/ That doesn't sound 'Fun' Just because It's harder to pass ^___^

Nothing particularly hard has come out of the DLC, but I have bought about 20 of them. I'd say a good 3/4 of them are perfectable, as I've perfected a ton.

Quite a few good songs, but very few good on guitar (The charts, that is)...

- Shooting Star

by Priestess
- Talk to Her

- Times Like These

by The Offspring
- Original Prankster

by Atreyu
- Blow
- Bleeding Mascara

by The Hives
- Abra Cadaver
- A.K.A I-D-I-O-T

by Shadows Fall
- Another Hero Lost
- Redemption

by All That Remains
- The Air that I Breathe
- Not Alone

by Megadeth
- She Wolf [live version, the 8 minute one, I don't care if there's 2 guitars they'll pull it off]
If anything, LISTEN TO THIS
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKmyu-wA3cY (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKmyu-wA3cY)

by Taranchula (from the Strong Bad Sings album)
- Moving Very Slowly

by Limozeen (from the Strong Bad Sings album)

They should totally do "Trogdor". The only reason that I didn't list it is because it's on GH2. Whatever. They should definitely re-release GH1 for Xbox 360 though (with multiplayer). And they should also release some sort of update for online play for GH2 for 360. Wow, that's a lot. I might eventually take this to the people that make the games.
