Background Info
Lucario is a Pokémon that appears in the Nintendo DS versions of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl; this Pokemon can only be obtained through evolution. It evolves by leveling Riolu up at a high happiness level during the day time (between 4:00 am and 8:00pm). Its type combination is Steel and Fighting, a new type combination as of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Oddly enough, because Steel is weak to fighting, Fighting attacks are super effective against Lucario. Lucario has two possible Pokémon abilities: "Inner Focus", a trait that prevents flinching (this does not work with the "flinching" effect of Focus Punch), or "Steadfast", which causes Lucario's speed to be raised if it flinches. Its Attack and Special Attack statistics are very high, along with an above average Speed stat. This makes Lucario a very formidable opponent, seeing as it can usually attack first and deal large amounts of damage (often referred to as "sweeping"). On the other hand, its Defense and Special Defense are average. Lucario is the only Pokémon able to learn a "Bone" move, Bone Rush, other than Cubone, Marowak (and Smeargle by the move Sketch).

Lucario is used by Maylene, the third Sinnoh Gym Leader, a tag-team partner known as Riley, and by Cynthia, Sinnoh's Elite Four Champion.

Lucario is mentioned in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. If a player gains 15,000 Rescue Points, they will reach "Lucario Rank", and a Lucario statue will be placed next to the player's rescue base. Alakazam also refers to Lucario after the initial story is cleared, saying that his exploits as a rescue team leader are legendary. It is also mentioned by Alakazam in "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon" where he says that he wants to be like Lucario because he is so heroic.

Many people mistook Lucario for a legendary Pokémon before Diamond and Pearl were released, because of its mysterious role in the movie Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew and because it can talk using telepathic powers, use a powerful bomb attack called Aura Sphere (which can be learned by other Legendary Pokémon like Giratina, Mew, and Mewtwo ), and it has a similar body structure to the legendary Pokémon Mewtwo.

Inclusion in Brawl
Lucario has a huge fanbase, both here and in other parts of the world. Why? Well, here's your answer.

1. Insane popularity is a glaring advantage that Lucario possesses over other Pokemon. If Lucario doesn't make it in, Many fans will be heartbroken... No one wants that :P

2. Lucario's inclusion in Brawl would represent the 4th generation of Pokemon. REPRESENTIN'!!!

3. He's a Fighting type... It's kind of about time we found a worthy Fighting Pokemon to join the fray.

Common ArgumentsWhat? Why would you not want this pooch in?

1. He's just like any other Pokemon... That's a big one that haters use. Here's the thing, though. Jigglypuff is also just your average Pokemon... Why did he get in? Popularity, of course! And Lucario is in the same situation, so he's got a good chance.

2. "LUKARIO WOOD B 2 MOCH LIEK TEH MUU2!!! HEE HAZ TEH OURA SFERE!"... Simply put, some people believe that he is too much like Mewtwo because he possesses the attack "Aura Sphere"... For God's sake, Lucario isn't even a Psychic Pokemon, can't levitate, and doesn't possess telekinetic abilities... This is a hunk of junk argument...

Lucario in Brawl
Well, first thing that comes to mind would be Black Belt level Martial Arts fighter. He's a fighting type, so he's sure to be fast on his feet and be a formidable opponent. He would have fast execution of attacks and have some good combo potential.

A downside, though, is his light build. Lucario is meant for speed, yes, but with that, comes a cost. He isn't the most muscular type of Pokemon, unlike his other Fighting Type brethren.

Special Moves

B: Aura Sphere - Hold B to charge. When B is released, Lucario will shoot forward a high flying sphere of Aura. Once it makes contact with anything, it will explode, sending small beams zooming in random directions with limited distance. The size, speed, and travel distance of the Sphere depends upon the charge up, as well as the number of beams that shoot out upon the Sphere's explosion. The charge is not savable.

Smash B: Bone Rush - After a brief start up, Lucario will dash forward at a blinding speed, swinging his arms forward, striking with the bones on the back of his hands. After this, Lucario will then perform a jumping uppercut, using the bone. If used in the air, Lucario will rush forward only.

Down B: Metal Claw - Lucario performs a quick swipe forward. If the attack makes contact with a foe, Lucario will then leap up and continuously strike at the opponent, followed by a final lunging punch. Lucario's fists will be lighting up during this.

Up B: Sky Uppercut - A simple uppercut that launches Lucario upwards.

Final Smash: Close Combat - Lucario will rush forward. If he comes in contact with an opponent, Lucario will go into a rapid sequence of punches and kicks. Lucario will then follow up with three final attacks. There will be a freeze in between each of these final attacks, with an explosion occurring at each one. Close Combat will fail if Lucario doesn't come in contact with an opponent at the initial rush forward.

Thanks for reading!!
