No.  It's been removed; it's no longer possible to move while air-dodging, which is a key element of wavedashing.

You guys are going to have to play fair now.

You have no idea how happy I am to hear that.

I hate wavedashers.

I'd like to play a game with out using techs ya know?  :-\
As Jono said, you guys are being casual elitist. It's not our fault you don't want to learn to "drillshine>shffld bair edgehog". If you want to limit yourself, fine, but don't whine when someone who wants to play the game the best they can kicks your ass because you "would like to play a gme without using techs".

see, I can't even do that stuff (nevermind figure out what it stands for, really, i can probably decipher most of it).  but the thing is, people who play competitively don't want items taken out, they don't want people who don't play competitively to have the game changed for them, but for some reasons casual elitists want the game made so that they can play competitively without having to put any effort into it.

it's like asking a pro tennis player to play a game with you, but without using spins on the ball.  Yeah, it makes it more fair for you, but they'll still kick your ass up and down the table.

Well, some people are different.

I'd rather vs. a person who doesn't use it then Does, if they wish to use it to there advantage thats fine.
I can wavedash (NOT as good as those who perfected) but it's not my style/taste to do so.

As I said, plenty enough times, I Loath tournaments for various reasons, so I suppose I'm NOT the competitive type
as much as others. Thats just the way that is.

If Wavedashing is truly out, then I personally see as it being something positive on My behalf, though the results of
"Hate/Happiness" is going to vary regardless. ;D

I can wavedash in-game, but I have to make a conscious effort to do so.  I don't do it mindlessly like some people can, but when I use it, it's obvious the advantage I have over when I don't.

I can't even go to many tournaments from where I live anyways, so I'm not terribly exposed.  it's just that I've been fighting the battle against all of the casual elitists on gamefaqs for... quite a while, and it's just a pain to argue against some of them because they insist that you're wrong.

Why do you hate tournaments?

Stage fright I guess...

So many people watching, the tension/pressure, failure of losing.
I sweat, and I feel faint/Sickish... it's not very pleasent to say the least.

However, I can and would rather talk infront of 10,000 people in a Speech before I enter ANY SSBM Touranments.

Times I have entered I'd always come in 2nd and 3rd place
(I entered probably ..... 4-6 tournaments Total of my SSBM gaming existence)...
but I'd just rather do with out that freaken pressure.

The same kind of goes for mario strikers charged...  :-\

^ But thats only playing against strangers,
playing with my Wii Friends from Here.....there is no pressure at all, it's all fun!

SSBB is set up to where if you play against strangers, It does NOT count against your record, (YES!!)

But playing against your Wii Friends Counts (BUT I'm FINE with that)
So it's a win win situation, not to mention it's ONLINE, so I don't have to see anybody. :D

But with random online, are you really going to have a choice?

Not to mention, contrary to popular undereducated belief, wavedashing isn't the most important thing in competitive smash. Unless you character happens to be Ice climbers, there isn't a 100% chance you will get intercourse ed if you don't wavedash.

And once again, I agree with Jono. The casual players want everything dumbed down so they can be like competitive players without putting in nearly as much hardwork. If you are really against it, just act neutral. Don't worry about it, say nothing insulting/against it, and you'll be fine. Tourney players don't force every other person to play by their rules. It's only that way when it comes to deciding who is more skillful.

Tupin

BTW, I really don't care either way.

I still don't want to be in a tournament because I'm not that good at Smash.... >_>

I'm all for the physics-abuse/glitching scene in gaming.  that's what I do in my spare spare time, and smash fills up some of that time (the rest being filled with finding shortcuts in Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, or basically any Metroid title).  and anyone who says "such and such a glitch should be removed", I question them, because many of them simply can't preform it.  Nintendo is one of those companies that stands for any physics abuse being removed.

and that's one of the reasons I can't stand the company.  but at the same time, I love Metroid, and wouldn't have it moved anywhere else.

metroidmetroidmetroid

but, Yeah.  I love seeing how one can manipulate what the programmers willingly put in the game to their own benefit.  It's just really cool.

The thought of an eventual sub 1 hour metroid prime gets me off.

not really.

Not to mention, contrary to popular undereducated belief, wavedashing isn't the most important thing in competitive smash. Unless you character happens to be Ice climbers, there isn't a 100% chance you will get f***ed if you don't wavedash.

And once again, I agree with Jono. The casual players want everything dumbed down so they can be like competitive players without putting in nearly as much hardwork. And I agree, with everything you said, but still I'd like to get my Opinion across so people will know how I feel
about the matter.

If I can't wave dash or not good at it, then Yeah thats my problem, I should work hard in perfecting it like them. :P
That I agree with, thats how it is IRL ya know.

I'm open minded to understand from both sides/issues.

I just don't like it, and it's not my style, thats all.

"I hate those who wave dash"<--- Thats what I said, but I wasn't being Extreme to where I was like,

"OMG, I WISH ALL WAVEDASHERS DIE GRRRRRR!!! >:( "
no thats not me, and I didn't mean it that way, so I apologize for it!

I just have my thoughts and views on it and I'll say what I think about it when it comes across
(and If I feel like saying anything).

I owned SSBM for what...................... 6 or so  years (what ever lol)
and I NEVER SEEN nor HEARD of Wave dashing or any techs until the 5th YEAR.

So my skills and everything else was set in stone, I didn't want to learn something else, I just didn't like it.
I seen other people use it and was amazed at Fox, Marth and Luigi doing it 0_0

But in a way it was too late for me to learn, and because I just wasn't interested.
Maybe if I heard/known about wavedashing from the start, I'd of mastered it. :P

If Wave dashing is back, in SSBB then I'll take THAT Chance and input it into my fighting skills...start all over from
scratch ya know, and any other techs that may be discovered.  :robothappy:

I have to start over as Yoshi, because basically my whole play style was based around double jump-cancelling... :'(

wavedashing is gone for the most part (except surprisingly enough, Yoshi had his own variation of it at one of the demos), but I'm sure there'll be other techniques that will be found.
