If Nintendo released a Wii feature specifically for Brawl that would let you download characters that would be awesome.  Except the only problem is that a new character changes everything.  The character affects the target score, homerun contest, event matches, vs matches, etc so it would impact the game alot and also nobody said that US wasn't getting bonus characters.  Japan for instance were originally the only ones to get Marth and Roy in melee leaving us with 23 characters so it's possible that our version could be different.
That's not true, we have Marth and Roy here in the Americas
Oh sorry.  I meant they were originally going to be the only ones with Marth and Roy.

It is certainly possibly, but I would say it's not likely at the same time. The Wii is certainly capable of it (if it had enough ROM), and there was the possibility that the game already contained the characters, but needed something minuscule like a Serial Number of sorts to unlock the characters. Of course, this is Nintendo, so that alone makes it unlikely.
Yeah I was thinking that that would be the only way for the Wii to have DLC of that size.

Unlikely, it was probably due to translating since NOA took a 2 week holiday at the beggining of the year.

Tupin

I still doubt it.

Nintendo only uses online to compete with Sony and Microsoft.

NEVER, EVER gonna happen.
Wii has only 512MB of RAM memory on it....which can barely handle a bunch of N64 games. No way a full character model from this generation will be able to fit in it. Hell, just the DEMO of Devil may Cry 4 had more in it than Wii's entire memory! So, unless Nintendo ever releases an accesable Hard Drive for the Wii, it's impossible....and since does Nintendo do anything SMART with their consoles? Which basically means, NEVER

Releasing Wii Fit in America will sell millions.

Sorry, Nintendo can't hear you, they have too much money around them.

Actually, character models aren't that huge, probably 100 MB the most. If we have them at launch, then it won't be a problem for us, and Nintendo of Japan is smarter about these things than NOA; they will probably have HDD's by the end of the year. Heck, they added DVD compatibility to Japanese GameCubes, so this certainly isn't a problem.

I hope we get HDDs.

of course, Nintendo doesn't want you to keep games on your Wii.
