Clamshell packaging is being phased out. Finally. I can't tell you how many times my hands got cut on jagged plastic.  :|

The main reason is because the plastic that is in clamshell packaging is not recyclable.

Now if they could just find a way to stop making those AC Adapter/Plug combos.  >:(

What a stupid reason. Recycling isn't even worth the trouble.

What? Go ahead and try to say something.

We're so worried about using energy, yet we waste it by recycling things that cost more to recycle than to produce new versions of (except for aluminum). We've been told bullpoop about landfills being horrible, yet it's been proven consistently that they're perfectly sanitary. Hell, they get converted into beautiful golf courses once they're filled. Landfills will run out? Er, no. The amount of land we've used so far is amazingly minuscule. We won't "run out" of landfill space for ages upon ages, and guess what? There will be new land to use by that time as old landfills degrade.

Recycling is a loss. It's a waste of both energy and money. And by the way, if you're so worried about the environment, talk to the people at recycling plants and find out what sort of emissions are being shot up into the air from those plants.

One of the most annoying and dangerous inventions ever is being phased out, so why should you care?

Agreed.

The only time I recycle is when I am at school.

My school doesn't even recycle. The stuff in the recycle bin goes right along with the stuff in the normal trash.

Who said anything about the environment?

I could care less, but you can get paid for recycling, and that way they can manufacture less cans and crap.

That's me. :D ^

I hope you're joking.

Every time we cut down a tree, normally we'll plant one. We aren't cutting them down fast enough to destroy other-than-human life.
