Halo 3 you'll be bored of in three days. Gears of War... was extremely fun back then but not many people play it anymore. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is your best best for a game to last you for a while.

Do NOT get the Arcade. It only has 256MB of storage space. Get a Pro (20GB) or Elite (120GB) instead. Or try the regular (20GB) too, I have a regular but I only play it for 2-4 hours at a time so it doesn't start on fire.

For games, I recommend Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Rock Band, Sega Superstar Tennis (if you're into tennis games with classic video game characters), and Viva Pinata.

I haven't played Crackdown or CoD4 yet, but I played Halo 3 and didn't like it.

For old Xbox games, try Jet Set Radio Future, Armed and Dangerous, Conker: Live and Reloaded, and Shenmue 2. And for XBLA, try Sonic 2, Streets of Rage 2, Zuma, Worms, and Tetris Splash.

Well, I haven't been reading up but you should be getting a Pro. Call of Duty 4 is a great shooter, so if you want one, that's it. Halo 3 is pretty fun, but it does get boring after awhile. It'll just depend on how you act upon it. Vegas I heard it's good but I still can't find fun in it. Maybe I just need to play up on it a little more. You could also get Forza Motorsports 2. Good racing game, real life type of simulation and it's pretty easy to get used to.
