Guns don't take expertise.  You don't prove anything by shooting besides your impatience.

A swordfight, on the other hand, is a test of skill, and if you succeed at your mortal endeavor, it's because of your awesomeness, not because you can just pull a trigger and aim something in the right direction.

I also believe that just severely injuring someone is enough punishment...gunshots are much more fatal, which is no fun.  What are you proving if you can't rub it in the other person's face later?

I can agree.
If you cut somebody ...say across there face... that SCAR will be with them
until they die... or practically anywhere else on the body.

That is pretty brutal.

If I had to pick a weapon out realistically, I would choose a gun.
If we are doing some kind of cool video game style battle, then I would pick sword.

I couldn't possibly handle a sword in real life. The recoil on a gun would probably hurt my wrist but at least I would be able to use it..

I pick guns. But only because the Physics Gun is my favorite thing ever.
Grav gun is only good for picking up poop and throwing it

You could use the Gravity Gun to pick up a sword and throw it at them. Then what would you vote for?

Not true. Any gun takes a lot more skill to shoot accurately in most cases. There's also sniping which takes intelligence, patience, and a whole lot of skill.

Gunfights take a heck of a lot of strategy. Sword fights are awesome no matter what, but gun fights can be just as much of a test of skills.

I can think of many, many ways of severely injuring someone with a gun while still letting them live to 'rub' it in their faces. :P

Swords make you look more badass, in my opinion, but really, a gun just gets everything done quicker.

I was more talking about formal duels in this case, but yes yes I play TF2.  Even so, I don't like the shady strategy and stuff that is in modern warfare.  Just freaking duke it out in an open field.

Yes, let's throw thousands of years of warfare experience and advanced technology down the drain to fight in an open field.

There's no honor in killing anyone anymore, so you might as well kill them in the cheapest and sneaky way possible.

...Swords since you can block other swords as well as guns and bullets...
...You can just deflect them and you're fine..
