I still want to know why things like Skateboarding and the like aren't in the Olympics...those take a hell of a lot more athleticism than many of the track events X_X;;

I beg to differ. Much training and conditioning for the running those guys do. And I'm glad the Olympics isn't just one giant X-Games, then I'd be s***ting on someone's face because the X-Games are ridiculously overrated and lame. You skaters already have an event for your "sport", why do you want to take over the real athletes? You underestimate some of the athleticism of Olympic sports. And I can see skateboarders down the f***ing street, I can't see amazing people in some of these Olympic sports just anywhere and only get to see it on these occasions.

Wasn't Ping-Pong in the Olympics at one time?

Table Tennis is still in the Olympics.

That's just stupid...  Baseball is a major sport! They can't just remove it.

I'm not sure why they said that, even though I never watch baseball or softball so probably no loss to me. Baseball is boring to me.

However, if you haven't seen the Chinese play table tennis, you've never seen table tennis. I've seen those guys do cartwheels, jump on the table etc. and it is just ridiculous how good they are at it.

What I find funny is that even though this is Olympics has one of the largest number of athletes ever, there were more people involved in the Opening Ceremonies than there are actual athletes.

I think that's what they said. That center of the stadium floor was a retractable floor and they lifted all that crap out of there. I can't believe they could do all that they did.

The Olympics are boring as all hell IMO. The only thing people care about is medal counts, and most of the events are the same dang thing in each category.

I think you really underestimate the dedication people have for competing in the Olympics.
How are medal counts the only thing people care about, when most of the competitors will never win a medal and there are even countries that have never won a medal in the Olympic games.

The Olympics are a chance of a life-time for all of the competitors and it was great to see the smiles on their faces JUST to march in the Parade of Nations.

As for Skateboarding and similar events, maybe they should be in The Olympics and I'm sure they eventually will be in. Snowboarding is in the Winter Olympics and BMX is making it's Olympic debut this year.
