According to IGN, that's the case. They gave it a 4.0 (well, 3.9). Normally, IGN can't review for poop, but all the complaints seem like things Sonic Team would actually do like bad level design and the like. Now I'm a little nervous, but I'll wait to hear others first. Oh, and it can't be worse than 06...NOTHING can be worse than 06.

Tupin

I'm going to actually try out the game myself, but it seems pretty half assed.

IGN can go blow itself.
got the game today, and I really enjoy it.
Btw, Silver is in it.

You like Shadow the hedgehog. Your opinion is pretty much invalid when it comes to Sonic stuff.
"I like cigarettes, Mrs. Taggart. I like to think of fire held in a man's hand. Fire, a dangerous force, tamed at his fingertips. I often wonder about the hours when a man sits alone, watching the smoke of a cigarette, thinking. I wonder what great things have come from such hours. When a man thinks, there is a spot of fire alive in his mind-and it is proper that he should have the burning point of a cigarette as his one expression..."

Shadow wasn't horrible, but it wasn't good either.
And yes, Triforce likes everything Sonic, regardless. Hell, they could make a game called "Sonic plays Old Maid with Tails" and he'd probably call it the greatest card game ever X_X;;

Tupin

They should just pull a Megaman 9 and make Sonic 4.

Shadow is just such a lame, cheesy character regardless. The misunderstood, bad-ass antagonist that the protagonists initially fight but later team up with to defeat a common enemy. It's so played out. Is has been done so many times that it's just yawn inducing.

Worst thing is; they didn't even pull it off well.

Bull.

Shadow [and Rouge] were amazing in their first Sonic game, which coincidentally is almost unanimously considered the best 3D Sonic, if not the best Sonic period.  It was the later, all-around sucky games like Heroes and ShTH that ruined them.  Not to mention the fact that when he was introduced about 10 years ago, video game stories hadn't gotten deep enough for anything to be "played out".

Although, while it's a big departure from his origins, I did like how they played him out in 06; rather than the typical anti-hero, enemy-of-my-enemy-is-my-friend, woe-is-me punk that he had been for a while, they made him a government agent, being an all-around good (though still serious) guy who is actually the only one NOT acting emotional.  I liked that about the game's characters:  Silver's there cause he wants to be a hero, Shadow's there cause it's his job, and Sonic's just there.

Shut the intercourse  up.
When did I ever say I loved all that is Sonic?
Get your facts right.

Btw, at least i'm not the most pestimistic person on this darn forum.

Shadow's game isn't good either.
But it's better than 06.

Saying it was the best 3D sonic doesn't mean much. That's like saying, "of all of these poop sandwiches, this one tastes the best." I think the 3D sonic games are awful. Some cool ideas, but they don't capture my interest.

Also, I wasn't talking about video games exclusively when I said he was a cliche character. He was basically Vegeta as a hedgehog.

Um... there's already a game worse than '06.

Your opinion isn't the right opinion. Neither is mine.
We have our own opinions for a reason.
I like 3-D Sonic games (Most of them) and you don't.
And that's alright.

Shadow was good in SA2, then he got emo, then he got a little better in 06. Having the only good story from that game. (Game still sucks balls)

Vegeta is hot headed, pridefull, and doesn't like to help people.

Shadow isn't really hotheaded, or really pridefull.

you catch my drift?

I see your point, and for the most part I agree.
Although the term "Vegeta character" tends to mean a formerly evil counterpart to the main hero and eventually they become friends/rivals and usually being the second strongest character in the main canon only to the main hero of  of the story. Vegeta, Shadow, Sasuke (for a brief period), Hiei, Renji, etc. are all examples of the "Vegeta" character. Just a quick explination.

Shadow was great in SA2, it's the reason we all wanted him back! I contribute the Shadow story in 06 being good to Mephiles and DAN GREEN!
