Majoras Mask. Music, story, items, and characters. Enough side quests to keep me busy just as long a OoT it was so worth it.

Majora's Mask is easily the better of the two, and is my overall favorite Zelda game. I loved (Virtually) every single thing about this game.

Ocarina of Time is probably the best representative of Zelda, it's THE cult classic of gaming, and if someone were a newcomer to the series, that's the first game I'd recommend.  But personally, I think Majora's Mask is actually a better game, mainly (if not only) because it has a deep story and characters that most other Zelda games (and in fact, most other games period) unfortunately lack.  And the ability to freely play as other species doesn't hurt either.

The point I make is that if Majora's Mask came out before Ocarina of Time, people would have opposite opinions.

Not really; Ocarina of Time would still be the first standard 3D Hyrule, Zelda, Ganon[dorf], etc., and Majora's Mask would still be the weird, dark game with a deeper story and characters.

I like MM because of a lot of things but the 3 main reasons I like it better are:
1) You could re-fight bosses without having to start a new game. (I think all games should have this kind of feature.)
2) Fierce Diety Link
3) The Anju Kafei (sp?) side-quest.

I played both, but I honestly like Ocarina of Time better. It's not because it's the first game, it's that it has a better storyline IMO. Majora's Mask was awsome as well, but it lacked in something, I just can't put my finger on it. Also, the main story was short, which is the main reason I play games, the storyline (and gameplay). Yes, it's fun playing as other Zelda creatures, but I prefer staying as human Link when I do the majority of the game, the majority of MM was using the other species, and not focusing too much on human Link. The time thing bothered me as well, every time I go in the past, I lose all the stacking items I obtained, and I have to get them all over again (not hard, but I prefer not having to). And Fierce Diety Link, I was excited about him when I first played the game, even though I knew it took a long ass time to obtain, but what's the point in it when you can only use him in boss fights? I mean, you get it at the end, the game's over, and you can't do much with it.
I do agree with the Hobo though, you should be able to re-fight bosses in more games. They should also have a side-storyline like the Kafei quest.

ALTTP Ocarina of Time. Although, all the masks are really fun to play with.

I'd put both on the "better than everything else gaming has to offer" level, but I put OoT above MM because it's quite a bit longer, a bit more challenging, and just more stuff in it.
MM is easily better than every other Zelda game besides OoT though. Hell, these two games alone are better than everything else on system.

Ocarina of Time was fun, my first video game, actually, but Majoras Mask was freaking fantastic.

I cant say Ocarina of Time was more challenging, I mean you had to learn 4 different sets of moves for each transformation. My friend, who is a diehard ocarina of time fan and MM is gay type, couldnt get very far at all in the Snow Head temple because he got so frustrated with Goron Link. And honestly, other than the Water Temple, Ocarina of Time wasnt too hard.

Which reminds me, I'd say the Great Bay temple alone would make MM the hardest 3D Zelda ever.
