I have had my laptop for 10 months.  It is still under warranty.

In that time, I have had problems with the:
-Heatsink (boiled itself into submission, because the)
-Fan wasn't working at all, which also roasted the
-Graphics Card, which, even after replacement, causes issues with any games I want to play.  The
-Motherboard was also roasted in this incident, but they were kind enough to fix it.

This was after about 3 months.

Next, my keyboard was broken.  Yeah, they came in and fixed it, but the fact that they had to replace the whole keyboard was overkill.  Also, I had issues not only with the keys themselves, but the computer sometimes had problem recieving input.

Another constant problem is the Dell Wireless LAN card.  It always gave me messages saying that it had shut down, only for it to start up again right away.  Why it did this, I will never know, because

My Hard drive is on the brink.  After 10 months.  TEN FUCKING MONTHS.  THESE THINGS ARE SUPPOSED TO WORK FOR OVER THREE YEARS.  FUCK.

I reformatted it, twice (the first time didn't work), and now I'm finally in.  I run a dell scan, it tells me that my hard drive is dying fast.  My computer can't detect it's wireless card.  Ever.  It can't connect to the internet, or even detect networks, even when it's wired.  I'm running intercourse ing vista.  intercourse .  My computer can't detect when I've installed new drivers off of the dell CD.  My fingerprint scanner no longer works.  My Webcam has never worked properly.  My volume bar no longer pops up when I change the- oh, nevermind.  That's one thing that works.

FUCK MY COMPUTER DIED AFTER 10 MONTHS

GIVE ME A NEW FUCKING COMPUTER DELL

GIVE IT TO ME

YOU OWE IT TO ME AFTER ALL THIS FUCKING FUCK

My brother's dell is like 10 years old and is still running fine, and playing TF2 when my friends come over...you could have just gotten a bad model or something.

The Dell XPS M1530 is supposed to be one of dell's best laptops.

It's screwed up due to cheap malaysian slave workers.

Well, that could be misinterpreted, best as in power, or best as in quality. If that makes sense.

Good thing i'm getting a HP branded computer.

I love Dell.

My last computer had 8 years of problems free life.  It was a Dell, and it served me well until a serious virus flood took it.

My newest computer, the one I'm on now, is having a few bumps in the road.  It's a year old, and here are the problems its had.

- shipped with the wrong size HDD, they sent me the right size no questions asked.
- a corrupt registry file made my disk drives not work, and they took care of that right away.
- my graphics card is acting up, and after trying all that they could think of they're sending me a new card on Monday.

The customer service is great and so is the hardware.  And if it isn't, they have no problem fixing it.  What's so bad about them?

My Dell lasted for about four years and since about February it's rapidly gone in the tanker...which is why I finally got a new one.

It takes forever to boot, but it handles all the basic functions alright. Just don't ask it to push itself and it overheats up the ass. But basic Microsoft Programs, video playing, as well as internet activities are still functioning moderately well. Although every time I boot it up it seems to get slower and slower.

in 10 months I've had to call them to repair it 5+ times.

Every time they repair one thing, a new thing pops up.  This looks irrepairable, and I'll need to go buy a new hard drive, even though the thing is still on warranty.

Oh, also our 2 year old desktop's motherboard just decided to fry itself one day.  Computer is completely shot because Dell makes their motherboards in such a stupid way that you have to buy a whole new computer.

If you mean it's taking Windows longer and longer to start, that's just a trait Windows has.

And building your own computers FTW

Jono2, I am sorry to hear that. I've owned custom built computer for 5 years give or take and it has never given me problems. I ditched Microsoft for good after falling in love with Ubuntu last year.
Be yourself, everyone else is taken.

Meh, I managed to weasel a new hard drive out of Dell Tech Support after a 2 hour and 15 minute phone call

they aren't all bad.
