VC is Version 1.3; the politically-correct version with lame Fire Temple music,the Gerudo symbol on the blocks instead of the star/crescent, and green blood.

1.0 is a bit glitchy and you can intercourse  yourself up in the Water Temple, but supposedly it's also the best for crooked carting and other tricks. All version 1.0 carts are gold.

1.1 is best if you just want to play the game straight up; it's stable, but the...uh...wholesome 1.2 changes aren't present. Some version 1.1 carts are gold, others are gray.

1.2 has the edited Fire Temple music and green blood, but the blocks still have the star and crescent. All 1.2 carts are gray.

It was just a star and crescent on the blocks and Mirror Shield. Nintendo changed it because some angry Muslims weren't placated enough simply by editing the Fire Temple music.

I haven't play every last Zelda game ever, but I know the first Zelda game I played got me hooked.

Play A Link to the Past. GBA or SNES, doesn't matter, both are fun.

Fire temple music was awesome in the original version.
The chanting in the temple made it a little more creepier, but a ton more awesome.
