NSMBWii is not meant for online at all. Anyone claiming that it is wrong on several levels.
If Nintendo would spend even the slightest amount of money on servers that DON'T SUCK it won't have lag. Again, more complicated games on the Dreamcast did online just fine. Surely Nintendo ten years later can do a simple platformer with no lag
Still, pointless anarchy.

no one said it couldn't have both online and local. As the first Nintendo reviewer with a brain at IGN said "Anyone working on such a high profile game with multiplayer, no online would be inexcusable." Why should we let Nintendo slide? Also, what if a lot of my friends live in other towns? Now I can't play with ANYONE because no one near me wants to play. So much for "bringing people together" Nintendo
You surely don't talk much with other people. That, and surely you played the freaking game until dawn.

What the hell do you mean by "pointless anarchy"? If all these fps' can work just fine online with all their stuff, surely a hop and bop Mario game can. Oh wait, Nintendo gets terrible servers, the worst online system imagineable, etc., etc.
I honestly didn't play the game that much. I've just played Mario enough as a kid to know how the levels are built. It's not my fault the game is easy to me...

By pointless anarchy, I mean that this game requires teamwork to pass the levels. FPSs mostly don't need to have teamwork due to the fact everyone is against everyone.

Beat the entire game by myself. (so how does it NEED teamwork?)

FPS: Co-operative mode, Team Deathmatch, Team Capture the Flag, etc.

Well, it does need teamwork when you play the levels WITH people. If you stay far ahead, the screen won't move if someone else is behind.

Toejam and Earl was hilarious because of stuff like that. Besides, you can always pick the other player up and kill them if you wanted.

The game is very much so "Anarchy" with people you Play with if they are With you. It's the same thing when it comes to Chaos, but it's still fun.
What is wrong with having both? Making more people happy then those who sadly don't have the ability to play with others?

As Nays mentioned, the game mechanics is extremely easy, why not add an online option?
For this particular kind of game, I know that "COMMUNICATION" is important.
And people must talk to each other to get the best result, but that's why we have "Wii Speak".
With that being said, the game can be fun ONLINE as much as if a person was playing right next to you.

As said again, what if you have people who just don't have the ability to have friends or family members to come by and play?
What if you could only afford one controller so only 1 person could play anyway (Solution, play online).
Something is moderatly easy that Nintendo over looked is very sad, and it just doesn't make much sense.
I'm open minded enough to understand Miyamoto saying that a game like this is best played when people are "TOGETHER", but that is NO Excuse for not at least having ONLINE as an O P T I O N.
That being said could go by just about any game Nintendo Could/Would make.
And if they really work hard on it and not be lazy, Online would be Awesome,
and that's my opinion, though I'm strongly pushing it towards a "fact".

2 solutions
Wii speak

and go inside the "BUBBLE".

Playing with my room mate and my friends, plenty enough time I'd yell out, "BUBBLE" if I'm getting left behind.
I'd say it so Not everybody goes in bubbles thus the game ending. (I like the bubble idea, just sit back an relax).

But I hate it when I'm in a bubble in they hit the flag pole with out me,
That makes me So Angry! LOL

Though the game is fun, it's also piss easy, which is disappointing.
I was expecting something that was actually challenging. Even World 8 isn't even hard, just intimidating.

A lot of the level design makes it blatantly obvious Nintendo tried to make it easy, such as the propeller suit during the final boss fight. :|

Ever try multiplayer? It's much harder. Me and my sis keep jumping on each other, I sometimes have to carry her and end up killing her, sometimes I have to wait, get distracted and Dry Bones intercourse ing rapes me, one going up faster than the other killing the other. It's fun man.
It's also pretty hard to get ALL of the star coins, though so far I have them all, but I don't continue without them (even though I'm not spending them)

Just to add to the whole online fire: Hey look LittleBigPlanet, a 4 player platformer that can also work online. I have a pretty busy life along with my rl friends, and honestly I go to a chat occasionally on MSN, we wanted to play a four player co-op game. Guess what? We couldn't with NSMBWii.

Anyways, my beefs with the game have already been stated in the thread. The game's overall great especially with four players despite being rather easy. The only two things that haven't been stated are:
-Plot (In before fanboyism)
-Having two toads? Gee, originality bursts!
Oh and needs more Yoshi levels. More of a Super Mario World feel in general would be amazing.
[21:11] <mackormoses> let's take a look at today's stats
[21:11] <Rosencrantz> stats today are high
[21:11] <mackormoses> holy intercourse ing poop
[21:11] <Rosencrantz> you adding all these standards

3 of my friends smoke weed. Why? Well I asked one time, and this is what they said: "Because I can blow out smoke and it makes me feel like a intercourse ing dragon"

Fun, but easy. Some website promised me it would be as hard a Contra. :(

Could have had online, if Nintendo would try to get their online service working correctly. I would love to play with some NSFCDers.

Also, I've never gotten so many lives in a Mario game. I got up to like 30 after World 1, and I would get more lives than I would lose. By World 4 I had like, 70 lives.

Also, I have played with 4 people before. It's easier with more people. This is because of the press A to go into bubble mode feature. Whenever you're about to die, press A, have a friend save you. Your friend close to running out of lives and you're at the boss? Have them press A.

That's the vagina-y way. Don't press A.

I didn't. All my friends did.

I can't blame them though, they're not going to sit around and become amazing at Mario like we at the forum are. If only there were online.

Online would have been nice, even though most of the people who play it online would probably suck.
