All I have to say is this: stupid. as. intercourse .

I mean, the only way HVS had something with The Grinder was by cornering an unexplored market on Wii. But if they seriously think they can compete on 360 and PS3...well, I've a feeling L4D(2) is going to blow them away.

Thoughts?

Suddenly, I've lost interest.
As have I. The quality of their games in general is far from stellar. I was at least hoping they could put what they learned from The Conduit into crafting a good Wii game. Now, it seems as if it will be an afterthought.

And while I applaud the move at expanding your audience - they sort of need to find one first.

Aaaand there goes another potentially great Wii game.

It makes sense to me. The Conduit was well known because it was on the Wii, but it still did very poorly in sales. I guess it's better to have a game sell well than to have it exclusive to the Wii? Just because it's multiplatform doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be bad. But yeah, I don't have great expectations for it.

What helped The Conduit out is that it had a rather loyal following. They just botched the game in terms of what they promised. With The Grinder, they at least had experience working on Wii at their disposal (and through Conduit hype, received a ton of feedback for Animales de la Muertes, Gladiator A.D., and The Grinder). Part of the expectation with these titles is that they are built and designed for Wii. That's where their current experience lies (that, and Dora the Explorer).

By going on to PS3/360, they're losing part of their fanbase that does enjoy the Conduit. They're also competing in the big leagues. The Conduit did relatively decently because it did things right (but not great) whereas others didn't even do that on Wii. But port The Conduit to any other system (sans the PS2) and you have a product that should be selling for $10. I love the game to death, but it is flawed out of its mind. Just like HVS.

Don't care, the Conduit was mediocre at best and if I wanted a game like that there are tons on the PS3/360 that probably control better than the Wii version will.

>Implying pointing and shooting is worse than dual analog

Misinterpretation.

In the Wii's case, yes.

This is why companies care more for money than making a console unique. Thanks to this, the game was delayed for a WHOLE year. Nice, HVS. >:(

You know, I was expecting a post criticizing my post, elaborating on why dual analog is better than the Wii's pointing. I'm disappointed to see a simple yes, with no regards to anything else.
That's exactly what you do! A mere answer, with no details!
In fact, you're doing it right now!

You want elaboration?
First off, the Wii remote for pointing is still innacurate until you bring the Motion Plus in, it's relative to how you're sitting somewhat. Second, the idea of using the Wii remote as a pointing device for shooting is actually physically painful... look at the Conduit. I can barely play that game without my wrist starting to hurt after a while.
Dual analog works because it's proven to work time and time again. I don't want a simple little point and click mechanism that isn't physically connected to anything ruining what little aiming I can actually pull off. The Wii remote is a piss poor substitute for a computer mouse and it obviously doesn't work anywhere near as well. Not to mention the act of having to move the wii remote to the sides to turn is a horrible game mechanic, but since the button layout is so bad for the acts of normal fps', it's the only option.

So yea, screw the Wii for fps'.

This bothers me the most out of anything. I was looking forward to getting some time with the Grinder this year. Not two years from now.

That blew my mind when I saw that release date near the end of 2011.  I mean, really, I was expecting to play and enjoy The Grinder sometime this year alongside other great game, probably around Fall time, but seriously, near the end of 2011?  Wow.  And that's assuming the game doesn't receive any more delays.  At a rate like that, The Grinder might not even be competing against Left 4 Dead 2.  It will be competing against Left 4 Dead 3.  >.<

Still, I think it looks like it might be an interesting game worth taking a look at if the going multi-platform doesn't screw the quality of the game, but now if I do still plan on buying it, I will have to decide between the Wii, PC, or maybe even the XBOX 360 version of the game.  Well, at least I'll have TWO FRICKEN' YEARS to make up my mind...

2011? Can anyone say Duke Nukem Forever? >_>

But really, this isn't going to work at all. First, L4D(2) is better/will be better than it in every way. However, with that long and going up against major competition, HVS might get their poop together.
