A poster on 2ch supposedly has gotten a hold of the game disc and posted pictures as proof. He also took a picture of what he calls the official starting roster.
The picture was taken from his TV (notice the TV1 text on the top right). Either it's a good fake or it's the real deal! Stay tuned for more updates!
Thoughts?
.............Oh god.
i remember seeing this on brawlcentral forums. i like the disk.
It looks real enough to me. Especially the fact that Bowser was called Koopa, that is a general sign of a real japanese smash bros.
Seems legit enough to me. I'm no graphic artist, but it'd take a pro to photoshop that onto a TV.
The disc? It's not the American disc, so I'm indifferent as to the legitimacy of that.

Not really. I could do something like that myself.
Make the TV load an image through some kind of input. Edit the picture before, not after, going through the TV.
That pic has all the characters announced so far except Snake and Sonic. If this guy's right, we probably won't get anymore character updates until the game comes out. :(
But the disc looks cool. :)
Captain Falcon and Ness are unlockables?
It seems legit... but I won't believe anything till- well. You know what I'm gonna say.
Man, the disc looks awesome....
I guess Ness, and Falcon were buffed, or have diffrent movesets since they are unlockable....

Duh. I think they would have announced Falcon by now if he wasn't.

the reason they havn't announced Falcon yet is because he's using a new look from a new F-Zero game....

It LOOKS legit, but of course we don't know for sure until release, although I think this may actually be real, since everything Sakurai said is right so far. So either this dude has WAY too much time on his hands, or its real.
I think it's fake. Get one of our wii game cases now. Open it up, compare the things in the center of the disc that is hold it in, the one in the picture is different than any other wii game case. :O
That is truly awsome. I hope the guy who has it (if he has it) unlocks some characters and shows them to us.
once again i dont believe everything i see on the internet
itll come out soon and then we will know.
if it was real he would have gotten another character by now and posted another pic
It's fake. It has to be. How can some random guy get hold of the game?

Your one to talk finding a video of it.

You're right. :O
it looks legit except for the fact that in previous smash games the characters from the same series were grouped together.
oops.

when you first start Melee, Pikachu is next to Mario, but they move when you get more characters

In Melee, they weren't grouped until you unlocked all of the characters. Remember how Pikachu was in between Mario and Peach/Bowser/Donkey Kong (One of those three. >>) The point is, the starting roster wasn't sorted.

I do!
Sonic and Snake are unlockable? Doubt it.
Also, there shouldn't be a "Random" Button. Thats because when you turn Play thing off it randomly picks a character then.

Actually Sakurai said that 3rd parties are more suitable to be unlockables. That's been confirmed months before Sonic was confirmed. Do you honestly believe somebody got hold of the game? And since he stopped the video after 9 seconds it's obvious that he doesn't want people to see that it's a fake.

Sakurai already said that Snake and Sonic were unlockable, and only revealed them to build hype for the game. And there was, essentially, a random button in Melee, it was just invisible. Switching play modes proves to be cumbersome.

But in melee that random button only existed when you had all 25 characters. There is a random button in Brawl now.

Which is much more convenient than waiting to unlock every character for one. While a random button does seem to go against Sakurai's style, looking at his other projects, maybe someone convinced him, otherwise.
I'm not saying it's false, but lol..the characters just look Random.
You know in SSBM, you had Link, Young Link, and Zelda together,
You had Mario, Peach together......... it just looks...bleh.

OMG YOU'RE RIGHT!!!!!!! NONE OF MY WII CASES LOOK LIKE THAT!!!
Of course, there is the possibility that the Japanese case is different from the American case...
Why is it fake? The generic poses right out of the Dojo might explain it?!

EVERYTHING IS SO CONFUSING! ????
It looks real! And the disc looks awesome. I hope the disc looks like that for us too.
Shortfuse of SWF just contacted me and pointed out something very interesting. Here's what he had to say:
I started the "Japanese Forums" thread almost 3 weeks ago. It got some attention and was pretty popular. Gimpyfish grew interested in the way the SWF community was involved in this project of checking Japanese sites. He went to talk to a few friends who are major smash players in Japan. What happened later (and he announced on the SMYN podcast) is that he said he obtained some link to some great sites including what he though to be the Japanese Smashboards. It turned out it wasn't and the rest of the sites where just simple tournament sites. I didn't pay much attention to them. Gimpy did say since one of his friends would likely get the game early, since he hosts Melee tournaments. One of the tournament sites is http://ketubato.com . Interesting enough, this video surfaced: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VxrQiCz4_o
What's the correlation? Well, look at the user who uploaded the video. It's queensaki. Who is queensaki? It's none other than the webmaster of ketubato.com. What am I getting at? Yes, Gimpy's friend who he said was going to have Brawl early...who hosts tournaments is the one who uploaded the Brawl video to youtube. Yes guys, it's real.
I agree very much with what he said, and it looks like this video is indeed real, using the logic explained above. I'll let you be your own judge on the matter.
......

its very possible
have we seen the demo roster from the whobby event? I can't remember
Ice Climbers art is new.
So, if it is real than why was the video only 9 seconds? It made it look like he was hiding everything. I hope this is a demo otherwise we are going to get random spoilers everyday and that means I have to leave.
wow it looks real to me
looks real...but you never can tell. :P
